Just happened to pass by this little French bistro and I'm so happy we did! Casual and classic French dining. They have a cute little patio. I recommend you make reservations. This is not the place to come to if you're in a hurry. This is the place you come to when you want to slowly enjoy and give yourself a bit of a breather in between courses. The servers were lovely and knew the menu well. They checked on us regularly! Everything was so good! We may have over ordered but I suppose that's what happens when almost everything on the menu appeals to you. Can't wait to go back!We had:• Pan Seared Scallops: served with fennel compote, lemongrass hollancaise - large scallops and oh so delicious!• Cassolette d’Escargots: pan seared escargots, vegetable brunoise, amaretto & cream served with crostini - loved that it was saucy so that we could dip our bread into it and enjoy every last bit.• Country Style Paté served with crostini - great taste and texture.• Truffle Zucchini Royale: topped with smoked eel tartare - really enjoyed the different textures of this dish.• Cassoulet Royal: Rustic baked white beans, duck confit, pork sausage & pork belly - heavier and richer than we had anticipated. Good thing we were all sharing. Every last bit was enjoyed.• Cuisse de Canard Confite: Confit duck leg & sliced duck breast with potato gallette & caramelized apple sauce - well prepared, not overly salty or dry.• Angus Hanger Steak: Served with potato mousseline, bordelaise sauce - we couldn't get over how good the sauce was!• Soufflé au Grand Marnier - be sure to save room for dessert. This is a must try!• Lemon and raspberry tart - simple and fresh.
Overall very nice experience with great staff as well. Food & drinks are good! Will be back to try more options off there menu.
It is one of my favourite places in the entire city. It’s close to my house so I go often with my husband and we’ve never had a bad meal or time. Our last visit we shared the cassoulet, tartar, cheese plate, potatoes au gratin and chambord soufflé. I drank a perfectly balance French martini. The style of service is laid back with experience. Chef came out to say hello and see how our meal was, as always, and had a wonderful chat with us. We highly recommend❤️
everything about this place is lovely, the food is truly amazing authentic french cooking and the staff are lovely and very attentive. if you have a special occasion or want to treat loved ones to some amazing delightful food, cant recommend this place enough, trust me you be happy. i been there 3 times and cant wait to go back. if your not sure about wine pairings, ask any of the staff and they be more than happy to help, and the chef, he always personally comes out and talk to every customer. amazing place. will go back often :)
I feel very safe again to invest my Bitcoin because I've found a Platform that i can trust for the first time in a while. Severally lost my funds on fake trading platforms, I must recommend Mrs lilian wilson the best Account manager. lilin wilson is truly one of a kind and will go above and beyond for her clients.. I made a profit of $9,500 with an investment of $2,500. She was also extremely helpful in coordinating the withdrawal process. You can reach her Email: [email protected] WhatsApp +12485090477
Absolutely delicious.Although I am no pro in French cuisine, the food here was skillfully executed with lots of love and experience. The fresh in house made bread to the apricot with duck leg to the richly bodied demi glace sauce, nothing was bad.A hidden little gem in old Chinatown. The chef and servers have something real and amazing going on here.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening out with friends at this rustic French Bistro. It definitely has the best French food in Chinatown ( as the sign says). The Acadian Oysters nicely presented and tasted fresh and salty with a hint of lemon. My Top Sirloin was tops; served with a lovely Bordelaise sauce , prepared exactly as I requested and a very generous portion. As good as the steak was , the hit of the evening was the John Dorry fish. Beautifully presented it was probably the lightest and most tender piece of fish I have ever tried. For desert we shared the Souffle au Grand marnier ( delectable ) and the Paris Brest ( perhaps even better). Service was excellent and the prices reasonable. Will be back.
Could not have had a better evening dining out at Batifole last night. There is a reason why this place has been around for so long. Chef came out to say hi to some regulars and then also took the time to greet us too.My cuisse de canard confite was perfection. Crispy skin, meat tender and moist, the outside of the potato gallette nice and crunchy even though it was sitting atop a rich gravy.Friend ordered the catch of the day which was a John Dory. Presentation was beautiful, with a topping that must have needed surgical type precision.Other friend ordered apps. The fries are nice and crispy on the outside and so soft inside. Again, perfection. Her soup and salad looked good but didn't try.Wait staff could not have more welcoming, more professional or efficient. Love Batifole! Will be going back and taking the fiance, my mom and anyone else who will come with me :)
Best French food in Toronto!
We really enjoyed our dinner here. It’s a great local spot and I wish we’d come sooner. The food and presentation were very high quality and very tasty also. Everyone was very friendly too.We had a early booking and found on-street parking right out front of the restaurant. I’d suggest booking as the place was full when we left on a recent Thursday evening. It’s really like stepping into France in the heart of TO! We can’t wait to head back.
