This place is a bit hit or miss depending on the chefs working that day. On one day it'll be the best northern Chinese food you've ever eaten with generous portions, on another day it'll taste like a microwave dinner with halved portion sizes.
the food is not as authentic as I thought but still pretty good. Good service and nice decoration.
Lamb wok che mian was flavourful and hit the spot. My noodles were a bit hard and undercooked, but everything else was great!
Whilst staying in Toronto for a few days in a central location on Yonge, I decided to venture out for my lunch break and see what I could find. Having already tried out several Lanzhou style hand pulled noodles, I decided to try out a Shanxi variety, and ordered the vegetarian biang biang noodles for takeout. The noodles arrived well packed, interestingly with the tomatoes and egg stored separately, and there was an alluring smell when everything was mixed together. Knowing I had some leftover coriander in the fridge, I decided to add a liberal handful before digging it. The noodles were great, light yet with a light chew and coated in a tomato-ey spicy sauce. An assortment of vegetables were all well cooked and added a myriad of flavours, and the slight sourness of the tomatoes was a welcome addition. Personally, I found the coriander to be an integral part of my enjoyment, adding freshness and bringing everything together. With the intention of being vegetarian for the month, my choices were somewhat limited, but on a subsequent visit there were a number of dishes that looked very appealing.
Ordered the Wok Cumin Che Mian and it was so delicious. Thick, chewy ribbon noodles and lots of flavour. Will go back to try their other noodle varieties!
Noodles were bouncy with a great bite, the flavours were nice. A bit of a fusion flavour but a great option to try in the area!
I go here for the Liangpi and I think it’s the best you can get in the area. One time I was picking up my order and saw the staff drop (new) takeout lids on the ground. They picked it up and put it back with the other new container lids instead of throwing them away
My favourite Biang Biang Mian spot, noodles were nice and chewy and coated in a thick tomato sauce that brings out the umami of the dish, with tender pieces of beef and refreshing bites of veggies as well. Has a bit of spice as well to tickle the tongue. The Rou jia mo (pork sandwich) has such a wonderfully toasted bun. Seriously, I'd would be able to just eat the bun and be satisfied. The marinated pork within is exploding with pork flavour and has a strong cumin flavour. Cumin flavour kind of reminds me of samosas, so if you like those, this is must try.Overall, great restaurant and you should definitely try this restaurant.
The Liang Pi should just be called cold bean sprouts instead. I ordered this dish and I only got a tiny portion of noodles at the bottom and stacked up bean sprouts. I get the pandemic is hard on us, but this going to extreme lengths and is very unfair to the customers.Quality deteoriated as well, noodles was kind of tough and bland. I gave Artisan several chances, but this is definitely the last strike.
This place is rip off i order a beef nodle soup they give me one small beef and charge me 16$ never go there again and the cook not event wear a mask
