Service was great but my friend got food poisoning and is still throwing up, he recalled the chicken for his sandwich was still pink inside

We attended on a Saturday at 6pm, the restaurant was less then half filled. There were at least 30 seats at tables/booths opened beside us. The food was excellent and our server was exceptional. The issue is that I became aware of a group of youth visiting Thunder Bay - 17 people that wanted to join us at 6:30pm for dinner. When I advised the front hostess, she said she needed to speak with the onsite supervisor, who shared they were understaffed, had new cooks on and would be unable to accommodate without a reservation. I understand that pre-booking is ideal, and agree if the restaurant was at capacity. However there was more than enough helper staff that were not busy, or they need supervision to assign them more back in the kitchen duties because nothing is more frustrating than seeing staff who are folding napkins (in a group of 3) or aimlessly walking around with spray bottles. Our waitress was busy - she should of been allowed to use one as a helper to go and get the odds and ends (ketchup, extra napkins, clearing plates) as needed. A poor decision at any rate for the supervisor on staff, lost business and $ instead of accommodating. Also, use the empty space on the other side of restaurant, this would of been excellent space for a small party. Also extend hours 8pm closure? really?
We had the chicken pot pie.It was good, with a fairly decent fluffy top reminiscent of some of the pub pies I liked when I was overseas, but not as nice.The meal was more like something I can buy at a frozen food section, to be heated in my oven at home. At least it was hot throughout, which makes it better.
Great food — Great service.A recent visit to Swiss Chalet with friends was very satisfying. Sides the obvious great company, Swiss Chalet did a great job with Service and food quality. Given that all restaurants are now struggling to get back clientele and turn things around as before, Swiss Chalet is doing a great job managing these challenges.Thanks to the management and all the staff for a nice dinner and a lovely atmosphere to enjoy it.
We stopped in for a friend's Birthday dinner after distributing MMIWG Valentine's Day posters around the City. I had the 1/4 chicken ? dinner. The rest of my party ordered the ribs & chicken dinners. Its been years since I've been here. Was nice to be back again. Food was good. I ordered the sweet potato ? fries ? with my chicken ?. Roll was nice & ?. Gravy was good ? ?
Very nice to be able to get out to dine.As you can see I love the chicken and rib combo and they bring you lots of napkins.Service was quick and friendly, try it out again....for the first time.
Went for a family birthday dinner. We did reserve but it was not marked in their book.Dinner took forever and some dinners were cold, wrong or missing something.Paris our waitress was excellent and very apologetic for the services that evening .Very disappointed!
We (my wife and I and my aging parents...94 and 92) went this past Sunday for dinner. We made reservations and were seated on time.5pm...that is the end of and good comments I have. The place was maybe 1/3 rd full at best. When our server finally came by, he did say they were backed up a bit in the kitchen due to take-out orders...that is fine, but no offer as to how long we would have to wait. That wait turned into 1 hour and 40 minutes. I asked how long take out orders had to wait, I was told 20 minutes. Absolutely terrible!. I should have ordered take-out from the table. My parents were getting quite uncomfortable sitting on the hard chairs. When our order finally came, they had 2 of the 4 wrong and no utensils. The whole 2 hours and 20 minutes we were there, the server never came back to see if we wanted more water, salt pepper, nothing. As soon as our order came, we asked for the bill to be brought right away so we could leave..my parents were very uncomfortable by now. The bill took over 20 minutes to come. You can rest assured we will never return.
