This is not the Mongols from 2 years ago. I don't know if there was a change of ownership or just management, but this place is a mess now. Slow service, dirty, and the "buffet" was a disaster. Food and sauces all over the place and contaminating eachother, if there was anything in the tray at all.There used to be a manager that took great pride in keeping the "buffet" clean and orderly, I miss his efforts. The current staff doesn't care.
The art of stacking your meal, and then watching it being cooked. I make sure I wash my hands before going up so I can press down on it lol first the veggies then the meat usually chicken then pasta. Sauces I like is quite a bit of garlic and satay sauce I add I scoop of sesame oil they cook it with an egg I add nuts and sesame seeds to it. The best and the staff are great.

I forgot how much I like this place. We had the sweetest server. You have the choice to make your meal as healthy or in healthy add you want. The cooks entertained. The manager was in there working as hard as all the others. They worked well together. Just a great experience all around. Then of to Cambrian to watch their latest production.
First time I've been there, such a nice vegetarian option available in Thunder Bay.
I’m a bigger stir-fry guy than Mark, but I agree, this place slaps. Walked up to the veggie bar to start building my ‘fry and was paralyzed by all of the options. When you think it can’t get any better you make it to the sauce bar. Spoonful after spoonful of hot sloppy sauce. Then the dudes at the circle grill toss in on the piping hot top and shout out “straight UPPP” followed by beating the pile with weird metal bars. 10/10 would go again.
Build your own pasta/stir fry is the best and Mongo's is the best of the best. I have an allergy and they are amazing with it and never have an issue ensuring my safety
The process of choosing the ingredients by ourselves, then watching them to be cooked on a huge stove, on its own, was a unique fun experience. They helped us to select the proper sauce for the ingredients we already chose. The stir fries we got were scrumptious.
Before covid it was good, after covid it just went downhill, started getting extremely cheap with meats and not set up in a good way for the way the world is right now
Good food , friendly atmosphere and everything was clean and fast
