This was once one of my favourite soft serve ice cream shops anywhere. Now the soft serve is subpar, it's more like whipped cream than what the older more solid and creamy ice cream was.I believe their hardserve is still good and the food is decent as well.But if your looking for excellent soft serve it's time to look else where.
The employee did not listen to my order and forgot my son's cone which was ordered 1st. My cone was a 2 scoop wattle cone which was 1.5 scoops at best. I had to do 2 transactions and pay $12 for 2 cones which is expensive to pay for horrible consistency and service.
My favorite ice-cream spot in TBay. Love the chicken burger with cranberry sauce, even if it's basically just like a highschool cafeteria burger lol. They always have the best ice-cream and shake flavours, and really great staff. Love Merla-Mae so much.
I had their ultimate burger, fries, small fries drink combo. It came with two patties, bacon, lettuce tomato, etc. The burger was truly appetizing and juicy, would recommend to anyone; I have never had a juicer burger.In terms of service they were concise in the way they spoke, so ordering was smooth.I have yet to try their ice cream which they are known for but from the other customers that bought it, they looked for pleased.P.S. Be wary they only accept cash and debit.
We frequently stop here for their soft serve twin cones....the best. Recently while we were sitting at a table enjoying our ice cream the owner parked behind our truck to unload supplies. He sought us out and offered to comp us each a milkshake for our patience in waiting for him to unload. Told him we were fine, in no hurry. He insisted, we indulged. Old fashioned customer appreciation for sure !
Excellent place to enjoy from a burger with fries to a simple cone, (but is huge). It open on summer so if you are in Thunder Bay or visiting, I have to say it's a must.The people it's nice in that place and they are super fast with the orders. It's one of my favorites places here in the city.
Confusing Flavours.Tried the deluxe dog with recommended toppings. Very bizarre. I am not sure what the hype is... the merla mae sauce tastes like pasta sauce with a hint of chili powder.The poutine: Fries: good, cheese curds: good... gravy: TERRIBLE, bland and next to no flavour.Would not really recommend. Did not try the ice cream.
Their ice cream is very good for sure but I think their food is under appreciated, very good burgers!
Quality ice cream and delicious burgers and fries as well. Never a bad experience and the staff are amazing
It was a great place with a great old school burger place kind of vibe. Liked everything but the hot dogs. A bit overpriced and nothing special about them even though they sound fancy on paper. Burger was ok, fries were good. Would not come back for food but I'd try the desert. Likes the atmosphere and the staff and washrooms were very clean too!
