***UPDATE*** I want to give props where they are due. Almost immediately after I posted my review of my disappointment at our meal, a representative from Ling Lees called to apologize for our experience. She explained about the spice in the egg rolls and also advised that they've been having difficulty getting their regular noodles through their supplier (which is understandable at these times when supply chains are being disrupted everywhere). Not only did she apologize, but she refunded our money, which was super cool of her. So THANK YOU Ling Lees for the great customer service and for taking these steps to rectify a situation and ensure customer satisfaction. A lot of places would not have done the same. So kudos to you. ***It has been some years since I've eaten Ling Lees Chinese food so I was excited with anticipation when we placed our lunch order today. Because it was lunch, we went light - just egg rolls and consomme soup - but we were really looking forward to it.I can't express how disappointed we were when we dug in with our first bites. The egg rolls had a weird taste to them, like there was too much of a certain spice used. I'm not really sure what it was but it was the most awful egg roll I have ever eaten. We took a couple more bites hoping maybe it would get better, but it did not.So on to the soup. I LOVE the usual consomme soup noodles that come in the little white paper bags. I don't know what they are called or what they are made from, but I have never had consomme soup that didn't come with that little white bag of noodles. Until now that is. The noodles that came with this soup were small and thin and were a yellow-y colour. They were not the noodles I was looking forward to, but worse than that, they tasted awful. They didn't really soften up in the soup and they got a pasty type feel to them as they sat in the soup. I can totally adjust to change and often I'm introduced to new foods, ideas or experiences that become my new favourites. But this was NOT a good change. The soup itself had no flavour, it was like eating warm water.Overall this was the WORST Chinese food experience I have ever had. The food ended up in the garbage which was a total waste of our money. And speaking of money, we were charged a $6 delivery fee to have our food delivered just a few blocks. And I completely understand delivery fees, but between the taxes, the tip and the delivery fees, our $19.50 meal ended up costing $31...for 2 bowls of soup and 4 egg rolls, that all went into the garbage. What a sad and disappointing experience. I do not recommend Ling Lees if you are looking for a good (tasting) Chinese food experience.

I woke up craving Chinese and ordered Ling Lee's for the first time just to switch it up from the usual and it was amazing! The BBQ Pork Lo Mein is smoky and delicious, and the S&S Shrimp are crispy and the batter melts in your mouth. This may become my #1 Chinese spot in town!P.S. Parking is limited at the new location so if you're there at a busy time you may have to park around the corner or across the street at Shell.

My favourite place in town. The owner knows exactly how to do gluten-free properly because of her daughter, and I've been eating here for years without getting ill!

Best rice, best ribs, best Chinese in Thunder Bay! I just wish they had longer hours or were apart of other delivery services.

Although it's good 6.75 for a soup that's 160cc 200 cc of veggies for 16.00 no utensils or napkins then the wistful packaging of 2 large psperbags one inside the other and 2 plastic bags the servings are too small for the price dinner for at 31.00 plus tax its 25% too much money

Food was average...nothing special. Spring rolls were not very good...almost tasted like they weren't cooked all the way in the middle.

God knows I have had a lot of Chinese cuisine in my life, just look at my belly (that's a review for another time lol). Ordered delivery for my parents and I for dinner. I have to say this was the most fresh, delicious Chinese food I have ever had....bar none. It was delicious from the time I opened the box. I would say it is a little expensive but what Chinese food isn't? Well worth the money imo. When I return to Thunder Bay I will definitely be ordering here again. Highly recommended!

Orders have always been accurate, delicious and piping hot. My new favourite place to order from. Try the BonBons!

The restaurant has all Covid-19 safety measures in place~ social distancing, directional arrows, masks, hand sanitizers, partitions at checkouts etc~ take out only~food is delicious~friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff~good price point's~great to support local businesses that are struggling through this pandemic shutdown~ well worth a try

I loved this buffet with all my heart when it was run by the namesake, Mr Ling Lee. Unfortunately after his passing the food quality has taken a major dip and the restaurant had been run solely by his business partner, When Ling was running it I could easily say his food was phenomenal, the best value in town. Not only a fine cook, but a friendly and personable fellow Things are very different with his business partner. My lunch mate respectfully brought to the attention a hair in the food he was eating. The owner responded by becoming rude and angered I'm disgusted to think that someone who could be so crass and genuinely terrible of a person would have actually had any part in the local police force. One of the most bitter waitresses I have ever known also worked here. Awful food and service especially the proprietor. I feel sick just thinking of this place.
