I ordered the Jerk chicken meal with steamed veggies and oxtail sauce. It was nice. I had it for lunch. The chicken was good. The rice portion was pretty great and sufficient. The steamed veggies were done nicely too. I didn't taste the oxtail sauce in my food so I'm pretty sure they must have forgotten to put it on it. Nevertheless, it was a decent meal.
This place has the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life! I tried the Jerk chicken meal and also got a few pieces of their fried chicken to go and man it’s was soo delicious. I originally tried this place because I read online that if you wanted to, you could pay for a meal for someone in need and they would post it up on a board where people could essential grab a meal coupon. I thought, what an awesome thing to do for the community! I’m pretty sure rice is considered a side dish but they make DAMN GOOD rice... if you just gave me a giant bowl of Island Spice rice and peas and nothing else, I’d be a happy camper. But the other food is amazing too. I usually get cabbage, plantains and festivals. Lots of veg options, and the service is always fantastic!!
So good! I'm on a 9 day road trip from Alberta to Halifax, this is the best food I've had yet!
ordered dinner for two. menu says half a chicken. I got three drumsticks and two thighs not a half a chicken which is what they say on menu. very disappointing...
I got the chicken stew with plantains and let me tell you that it was really good. Taste, size portion and service :).I had left overs for today which I really enjoyed.
loved this. had simple jerk chx and rice. cooke to perfection tender. spice is the good slow heat without burn. delicious.
The curry chicken (boneless chicken) is my absolute favourite thing to order anywhere in town. I would recommend this place to anyone. The portions are awesome and the food is even better. The staff is so friendly, the cooks too if you have a chance to meet them. You can’t go wrong getting some eats from here. I almost forgot to mention the festival...so tasty!
The food tonight was outstanding. Service was top notch. A definite gem of Thunder Bay.
