I have never rated a restaurant online YET! I really took a chance on this restaurant after seeing them featured on BlogTO. Despite living in the area my whole life, I never went there because of online reviews. They're rated low for a reason! Ordered king fish meal, macaroni pie, sweet potato pudding slice. The macaroni looks like plastic. I will not touch it. The king fish was cut less than a centimeter wife and then cut in halves. Dried the HELL OUT!!! It was loaded with onion and bell peppers that's weren't seasoned slightly. The rice and peas had 2 skin from a kidney bean? NO gravy!! Spit out the potato pudding immediately and the size of that was also a joke. I can't say ANYTHING good about this food besides getting 50% back from skip the dishes.
Been here several times and the taste of the food is great only issue is the customer service and the lack of colslaw or veggies.. I wish Carribean cuisines could switch up the menu to have oxtail and salad or cooked vegetables as an alternative instead of rice n peas and no colslaw.. sadly inflation is increasing the prices on the menus so that will be a factor going forward but overall the quality of the food is good fresh and full of flavour and a nice touch of spice. That's the beauty of Carribean flavours not one restaurant will taste the same!!
The food is fresh and absolutely wonderful.. out of all the hundreds of jerk places in the city, I always choose twice as nice. I ordered 2 jerk chickens today with side of coleslaw and oxtail gravy... mmm mmm, usually go with the goat or the oxtail which are also well above standards from the other places.. it’s located in a rough neighbourhood but the mature lady (Sweetheart) up front serving, always greets people with a smile and is always very pleasant to deal with!! Great Job.. if you guys are closed and I’m hungry, I choose not to eat jerk LOL!!!
Waited an hour for a stew and peas. Wasnt the the correct dish. Im vegeterian and i got a box of meat after an excruciatingly long wait.The kicker? It was steam table food. It was already cooked. Why did i wait an hour? Unacceptable.
Terrible customer service. Went today and 3 ladies were there and the store was empty, no greeting, no thank you, no nothing, seemed like they didn't want to be there and had an attitude. I love supporting black businesses but this one is not the one. Only one star because the food is okay, otherwise this place isn't worth it.
No matter how long you wait in line, their friends will always randomly show up and get served before you. And it’s no use bringing the issue to their attention because the staff there are cantankerous, rude, and appear to have absolutely no customer service training whatsoever. There are many restaurants out there folks. Spend your money where your patronage is not only respected, but also appreciated.I will never go back to this place. And I hope when their customers dwindle their “friends” will keep them from going out of business.
Terrible service , they will make you wait an hour just to cancel your order with. No apology. I try to support black businesses but clearly this isn’t the right one. Their are other Caribbean restaurants in the gta that are black OWNED and better
Staff was unfriendly and rude. This is the second time I've been here and I had the same experience the second time around.Food was ok tasting. Rice was old. Nothing special.I do not recommend this restaurant.
I am Vegan & No Vegan Options On The Menu. In The Meantime My Son said to give it 5 Stars for the Stew Chicken Dinner He Usually gets From Here. Also crazy lineup at peak hrs. Jamaican Food.
If bad service is a deal breaker for you then avoid this place.For those of you like me who only care about the food then this is the place for you. The food is tastes like it was made in Jamaica then teleported here. Food 10/10 .
