It has been over 2 years since the last visit before COVID, happy to tell good news as food is with same good quality and quantity, as if it were just yesterday's... Glad for revisiting and will definitely visit again! And the only thing changed is just like everywhere else, price is a little higher which is impacting everyone at everywhere...
I’ve been coming here since I was 10 and I’ll probably continue coming here until one of us goes! For what it is, it’s great. Big bowls of pho and nice rice platters. All delicious. They used to put a bit more effort in both, specifically the platters used to have more vegetables besides a bit of shredded lettuce and carrots. But I suppose it’s all in an effort to save money. Speaking of which they recently raised their prices (evidenced by the tapped over prices :P)I’m a bit sad about it but it is what it is! I hope this 5 star review might help bring more customers and they can return their prices back to the good ol’ days.

This restaurant has CHANGED FOR THE WORSE.I've frequented pho 88 for the greater part of two decades. When I was younger, I was met with friendly staff and delicious food. The horror story starts after they received raving reviews online and rested on their laurels.I ordered takeout during the pandemic, and after they forgot to include my beef in the order, I drove back to the restaurant, where they asked me to pay additional for the beef they omitted.I decided to give them a second chance a week ago, and after ordering sit down, I was appalled when they served me cold broth and congealed noodles that felt as if they were in soup for the whole day. Their prices have also practically doubled, and in terms of value and even flavor, they no longer have anything on their competitors.
Great Vietnamese pho restaurant for a cold night's craving. This restaurant has been around for many years and has never failed me. Their food quality and standards have always been the same. Same few server and owners too.I've had their take out during covid and it is a bit disappointing but pho I believe should be eaten fresh, hot and dine in. So now that the city is open again, definitely back for more hearty warm soup noodle. The hot sauce on the tables did seem like it got downgraded though I must say. I think it's a sriracha replica and not the actual brand. It's not as fragrant or spicy.
DO NOT GO! Older lady at cash is beyond rude, smallest sized portion (their large is smaller than a small i've gotten anywhere else) with barely any meat, the vegetables (bean sprouts, basil, etc) were rotten, they actually smelled rotten, she charged me an additional $0.90 for a simple small container of hoisin/sriracha sauce.absolutely NEVER going here again
Smelled good - like tasty homecooking - when we walked in. The lady at the cash greeted us in a friendly manner. Told her we wanted takeout and she asked us right away what we wanted in a rushed tone. I didn't hesitate to tell her that I'd let her know as soon as I had time to look at the menu and decide. After we paid, she told us politely to wait outside. We sat in our car as it was cold outside but it's understandable due to COVID restrictions. Every dish we ordered was pretty tasty. The grilled meat was flavourful. Portions are fair: quite a bit of meat and noodles compared to other Vietnamese restaurants that pile on too much shredded lettuce. Just the pork rolls were a bit bland except for having a mild pepper flavour. It's a couple of bucks more here for each main course compared to what you'd pay on Gerrard Street East but still inexpensive: 3 main courses & pork rolls for ~$51. Will go back when I am in the neighbourhood.
Not sure if they deserve this one star.Food was good can't really complain on that.Service and hospitality is less than Zero. They imply tips is mandatory.Tip imo is if you like their service and had a good time, you'd tip.Would i go back, NOWould I recommend this place to someone or a friend, NOGood food spoiled by the level of service they provide.
If you want real sate pho (using the Vietnamese red chilli paste), look no further. I’ve never been disappointed with a meal here and the food comes out incredibly fast. Their sate pho is so flavourful and perfectly spicy. When the pandemic first started, we were getting takeout almost every week and the quality was exactly the same.
The worst Pho restaurant in the city.I went here last friday close to 10pm as it seemed like it was the only pho place around that was opened via Google and some of the reviews were decent.Ordered two med pho soups, spring rolls and mango salad which came up to $50 and they had the audacity to charge gratuity.Pick up was an option and everything came in separate containers due to covid which is fine.Pros: absolutely none!Cons:-instead of med pho soups that I paid for I got Small.-opened the container with the meat and it had a disgusting week old stale and preservative smell. Had to discard it and settle with the veggies.-pho broth was extremely salty and MSG to the moon.-Crispy spring rolls were soggy and super oily-Mango salad was green and not fresh.-charged gratuity.I do not recommend this place to anybody.I'm trying to support local ,but since the pandemic started alot of restaurants quality went down and price increased.
