Really nice experience at Oo-Kinza. It’s definitely in the pricier side, however, the value you’re getting is incomparable!Huge portions and fresh fish. It’s a really small restaurant with only 10 seats, so you must make a reservation in advance! The owners were lovely and super attentive.I dropped my chopsticks twice (oops), they miraculously heard it and came with a new set right away!I’ll definitely be back for more dons in the future! The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t have a washroom in the restaurant. I was directed to McDonald’s next door…which is definitely unexpected for the price I’m paying…
The fish here speaks for itself. We've been here several times and it honestly tastes like we're in Japan! That's not surprising considering they actually fly in their products from Japan. The prices may seem a bit high, but let's just say you don't come here to eat salmon. They serve many other exotic fish and seafood that is a must try!
Most expensive a-la-carte sushi restaurant I've been to, but completely worth the price! Portions were large and fish was fresh. They also serve uni and otoro tuna. My only problems with this place is its lack of washrooms and the sweetness of the soy sauce.I came here during their least busy time of day so I was able to be seated without a reservation but normally, reservations are needed if you want to dine-in.Photos are from 2 separate orders. The bowl was a basic chirashi bowl (takeout), and the platter was a chef's choice 10 pc sushi plate (dine-in). Both were absolutely delicious and I will 100% order more often from this restaurant!
Amazing ambience. I love the small and cozy atmosphere here though it also means that you have to call early to reserve a spot. Most of the sashimi are really delicious, though I'd appreciate if they could improve the texture of the rice and make the sauce less sweet. The uni here is excellent: sweet, savoury with very light metallic flavour.
The waitress's attitude is unbelievable rude! we made a reservation for 7:30, and we called in to let them know we are running 5 mins late. They said no rush because the last customer hadn't left yet, we took our time and hang out outside the restaurant after we arrived and went to check at 7:50, the table before us still didn't leave. and we said nicely it's okay that we had to wait, but ask if it's possible for us to add one more person. she asked us to sit outside but outside temperature was like only 17 degree and we didn't wear anything that warm. we understand the waitress says no for one more but the reason she gave us was like "oh, it's almost 8, you will only have 45 mins to eat anyway." so basically they refused to serve us. After we said this is not making sense because it is not our fault the table before us is leaving late, she started to say it's Covid they are over capacity. we drove 30 mins all the way and they made us feel like we are not valuable customers and they can take the next customer anyway. Very disappointed.
Amazing experience. I went for lunch and dinner and both times it was just amazing. The food is so fresh and tasty. Very polite and friendly staff. For quality like what they serve here I'd be halpy to pay the price.
Beautiful sushi restaurant! Excellent sushi, seafood, and uni! Wonderful service! Had a great time there. Really love it! Can't wait to go back there again.
Oo-Kinza is one of those places that I am so grateful to for existing.I have went many times to pick up, told all my friends who also order from there and dined in.It is a very small place - 6 people fit. This makes your visit even more attended to as they can focus on your experience. You definitely have to call ahead or reserve on instagram as the phone was completely off the hook while we were eating to call for spots or pick up.The food is here is VERY fresh and delicious, if you aren't happy with anything they will do their best to make it up to you - so for those reviews who complained they weren't happy I would recommend on just speaking to the people who work there.I ordered the fully loaded chirashi don for my birthday, as I went they remember me from the year before when we were able to Dine In and made my time here super special. They use FRESH wasabi here and if you choose tea, a nice delicious roasted tea is served along with your meal.It was SO delicious, as I ate every piece of sashimi with rice and their sweet soy sauce. When I was having the Botan Ebi I closed my eyes and held my boyfriends arm so I could just fully focus on tasting the flavor of the ebi, it was so delicious I felt my sashimi experience reborn as you don't get this with regular sushi restaurants.I could go on and on forever but I was super happy with the food that I had that I will be coming here again as well on my anniversary. The price is completely worth it for this level of sashimi, I wouldn't even say that its "pricey" I would say its just right!I highly recommend to dine in if you have the chance :) 10 stars from me! ?
It's pretty hit or miss. The first time I went it was the best chirashi don I ever had: all kinds of different fish; especially loved the slightest roasted tuna; everything was very fresh and tasty. The second time I ordered the same thing: much less variety; fish was soggy and stale; salmon smelled weird I couldn't eat it without soy sauce.
I’d like to eat here everyday when I’m rich ?
