What an absolutely amazing experience. Saw this place on Tiktok (of all places) and found myself hungry and on the 401. So glad we decided to try this spot out.When you pull up in the parking lot and see all the lumber outside a giant smoker, you know the BBQ is going to be good.We got a full rack of ribs, 1lb of the Korean Short Ribs, mac and Cheese, and a Jalapeno Corn Bread. Everything was superb. The ribs were meaty and great for sharing. So much meat on them and they are cooked perfectly. The Korean Short ribs were probably the best I've ever had. I wish we got more. They were slice thin and the cuts were pretty massive. They were so soft and just melted in your mouth. The mac and cheese was a big surprise. It looks pretty basic, but once you try it you'll recognize it's not basic at all. Has a nice kick to it with a strong cheddar taste. Very good. I will definitely be visiting again if I'm in Toronto.
Got the sample platter #2 - really good and tender meat! Brisket was my fave. For sides, we got the beans and mac and cheese. The beans were on the sweeter side, but I still really liked it. I also liked their barbecue sauce - very balanced in taste.
I had heard about “Norhern Smokes” barbecue ? restaurant during COVID but due to all restrictions couldn’t make it! Today had the pleasure of finally visiting in person & dine in.Firstly, the wait was well worth it!Secondly, come to the main agenda the food ?, as suggested by the lady at counter to go with “Brisket Plate” 1/2 lb smoked brisket plus any 2 sides.Looking forward to visit again in near future to try other items in the menu!
Really liked it, serving size and taste was on point. I would recommend people to stick to beef and avoid chicken, smoked chicken doesn’t taste as good in my opinion..Also i noticed that some people had complaint about the prices, may be they dont know briskets are actually pretty expensive.. i had briskets from houston texas this january and it was $30 USD a lb.. northeren smokes is less expansive and equally good.
Flavorful and juicy smoked meats and wings at a reasonable price point.We ordered 2 pounds of wings in 4 flavors and the meat lovers platter. The brisket in particular was juicy and tender, falling apart on the fork. The wings had a delicious smoky taste, with assorted sauces to dip.
It was interesting trying a halal smoked meats joint and I was very impressed; everything was so flavourful and smokey and tasty. You can taste the quality in it, which explains why this place was very expensive, but the portions were great too. Dine in on a Tuesday evening was just fine.
Unfortunately I heard so many good things about this restaurant but my experience was bad and food was bland almost no taste.Your Mac & cheese was so dry looks Iike was left in the hotbox all day. After paying around $50 I thought the meat would be juicy and delicious yet it was cold and clearly wasn't fresh! Don't think I will be going back
Got to finally try this place today and it was absolutely amazing. The drive was totally worth it. Ordered the Sampler 2, The food was amazing full of flavour and had the perfect amount of fat on the ribs and brisket. The meat on ribs were so tender and just melted off the bone. The jalapeños corn was great side. One of the best halal joints. Wish there was a location closer to sauga
I really wanted to love this place and give it 5 stars but I can’t for many reasons. First is their price. They are EXPENSIVE! Food for 3 people costed about $120. For that price you expect decent service and experience, but unfortunately we were served in a aluminum tray with paper plates. Second, their sides suck. I ordered cornbread and coleslaw, the coleslaw was runny and the cornbread was dry and cold. Third, their decor is somewhat decent but very out of place. They need some mood lighting, music, and decent placement of tables. Lastly, their meats (ribs, brisket, etc) was okay but not at all great. Their brisket was cold, ribs room temp, and everything else was cold. They tasted ok but everything else was so off that I didn’t enjoy my experience. I really hope they fix all things mentioned above as they really have the potential to be great.
We got the meat platter to share for 6 guys. Nothing left and everyone was ready for a nap. Meat was best I have had and the Montreal smoked meat was silky melt in your mouth LOVE. Better send in John C cause You gotta EAT here. We will be back. Please support any restaurant during these times.
