Went here for lunch yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly, I adored the decor and the food was to die for. Will definitely go back.
Okay…seriously…This place is just amazing. Just had the omakase tasting and was blown away.No idea this place existed at all but I’m glad I found this gem.If you’re looking for a culinary experience in Japanese cuisine this is the place to go!The quality of fish was phenomenal. Just melts in your mouth. The matcha tiramisu left me speechless, and as a pastry chef I hold desserts to a much higher standard. One of the best tasting foods I have ever eaten. So simple yet done so right.I usually don’t write reviews like this but the restaurant exceeded my satisfaction and I am compelled to share my experience to show my gratitude.
Nakamori is cozy, cool and calm. The ramen and sushi were great. Their menu has something for everyone and the staff is so friendly. Definitely coming back here again and again.
As befits a Japanese restaurant, the decor is nice. The food is not all Japanese - there's some fusion influence too.
Lobster ramen good. Not much lobster (but not pricey). Soup good - diluted khao soi gravy, with added umami punch from seafood. Lobster especially tasty: good firm flesh, well fried & tasty.
Beef curry was good. The beef was chunkier than expected (not minced beef). It was topped with a nice crispy garnish (fried onion?). The miso soup was good too.
Visited this place for the first time a few years ago, but I personally thought it wasn’t anything special but my bf loved it (especially their Jerk Chicken Wings) so we decided to come back again and, well… I was mind blown! The sushi was so fresh, their miso Caesar salad is a must as well, the jerk chicken wings was tender and full of flavour! You also have to try their sushi best, defs one of the best in the city! The only thing, I thought was their hand rolls were kinda pricey… overall a 2nd time there and my opinion definitely changed!
A hidden gem in the heart of Scarborough. Price is on the higher side, but this reflects the high quality of seafood served. Very accommodating staff and good attention to detail. Pleasant experience overall and I will certainly return for another meal.
Wow! Easily the best sushi I've had in Toronto! The flavours were exceptional and loved the techniques used. Started with sashimi and the jerk spiced karaage. As other reviewers have mentioned the tuna is fantastic! Loved the mango aioli on top! Shared the spicy Salmon, soft shell crab, spicy lobster California and butter teriyaki scallop rolls. All four were fabulous but the soft shell crab was extraordinary. Also tried the beef keema curry -- comfort food in a bowl! For dessert we tried the green tea tiramisu and chocolate souffle. Once again -- fantastic! Service is impeccable. Only negative of the night was questioning why we didn't come sooner! Highly recommend!
Brought the gf here for the omakase experience. Loved it from the first course. First course was like an appetizer sampler, second miso soup with you and seafood was delish. Salmon, wagyu beef and a nigiri, sashimi plate rounded of the meal. Chocolate souffle was decadent and not too sweet. We crushed everything. Had a drink with sake and hot apple cider which got me in a nice mood. Omakase was impressive at this unassuming scarborough gem.Host/server was real nice. And showed genuine excitement that we like the drinks. All in all, impressed with food and service. I would return.
