Mona has developed an amazing and efficient ordering system. Not a place to sit in and eat, you can place your order to-go for some delicious roti.I had the goat roti and doubles: Amazing fare - well worth the trip!
The jerk chicken with rice and pumpkin was delicious and cooked very well. The rice has the right amount of spice and portions were quite filling
Hands down, one of my favorite roti shops in Scarborough and probably all of Toronto. I used to live in the neighborhood and walk to the shop as a kid. I drive over 50km to get Mona's and it's worth it! Amazing service and the food tastes like home! Try my favorite roti combination of Jerk Chicken and Pumpkin always with pepper sauce ✨.
It had been 10 yrs since my last visit to monas when i found myself back home in scarborough. I was amazed that the food had not changed an inch. Had the vegetable dalpuri and a side of curry chicken. The channa bagee and pumpkin was fresh and tasty. The curry chicken was the star. Made me feel my granny cooked it from the grave. Chicken was juicy flavourful and amazing dip for the roti. Will always be back the moment i land in Toronto
This use to be one of my favourite places to eat, unlikely to come back. I ordered the Curry Chicken with rice and the meal was legit almost rice, about 1 spoon of chicken provided. Flavour isn't as impactful as it used to be since pre-renovation. Considering the meal was $13-$14, I'm super disappointed. Service is friendly and they get you in and out efficiently.I'd recommend a 2 minute drive to Roti Hut around the corner. They will also save you a couple of dollars with good quality and better quantity of food.
Very clean take-out restaurant. Staff members are very friendly, polite, professional & hardworking. Quality of food is great but the portions are way too small for the prices that they charge. For example, their Doubles used to be 50% larger than what they currently are. Always a long lineup & long wait. They surely can afford to hire a couple more staff members if they really care about efficient customer service.
Visited my family for the first time since the pandemic. First place I headed to for good home type food was to Mona’s. Got chicken roti and a couple doubles, wanted aloo pie but didn’t have any. Food is always good and never disappoint. The only gripe I had was the roti felt smaller so it seems like the curry chicken and potato’s are portion out . Definitely will get another before I head back to the States.
Excellent roti with fresh well seasoned ingredients. I had the 3 veggie option with pumpkin, spinach and chickpea. The hot sauce is spicy but flavourful. The staff are friendly and the ordering system is very efficient as they take your order and payment while waiting in line. Excellent for the lunch hour crowd. The jerk chicken roti was also delicious. Enjoy!
First time ordering and delicious! I was afraid it would be too spicy (I have an intolerance to chili peppers) but happily it wasn't.Took a while to verify if the chicken and goat is halal by hand or machine.Based on our most recent info for the Scarborough location only, the chicken is from Al Ameen poultry and the goat is from European meats - both suppliers said their meat is halal by hand. Just leaving this review to save others the hassle.Would be nice if the restaurant could just post it on their website.
I've long waited to try this place and finally had time to stop by. great fast service fresh flavourful foods what more can one ask for. Their doubles are amazing just perfect in every sense. Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu
