This restaurant has been around for a while. They keep the place clean and full of food, especially if you go during the earlier hours, right as they open. Staff is attentive and they are constantly around to help, if you need them. They are in uniform and very easy to spot. Right now, due to covid, they wear masks and provide sanitizers and gloves for people who would like that at their disposal. They continue to offer a warm/hot towel to each customer, before and after their meal. They also offer toothpicks and mints as you leave the restaurant. Parking is validated and is free, right in front of their doors (there's a huge lot with ample parking). I was just there for a mini event and the food is typical items that you would find at a Canadian-Asian buffet, made the same way as you'd expect. Food is fresh and tasty. BBQ section was great because I got my steak and chicken from there, just the way I like it cooked. They have a person or up to 2 of them, standing there to cut and grill the food so it's directly right off the grill onto your plate. They also have a mini sushi section, a large salad bar and appetizer section and a large dessert section as well. I saw some pizza and a few other items that were more of a typical US buffet like mashed potatoes, sausages, corn, etc. Basically, you'll find something there to eat and they maintain their standards for all Mandarin Restaurants so you won't be disappointed! The washrooms are always clean and fully stocked. The drink menu is packed and there are many options to choose from. The prices are up there and definitely not the cheapest but fairly reasonable, considering prices these days. If it's your Birthday, you get to eat for free but look online to see what rules apply. Same goes for senior rates! I know it's a few dollars less than regular adult price. I love that they offer those perks and I love how wonderful the staff is. They are top notch, as I was saying! Well worth very good tips!!! Oh and I should also mention they have both ice cream options and dessert options for diabetics or with no sugar added for those with diet restrictions (not many but at least some). Also, they have separate areas for events/parties for your whole group but the place is quite large and can accommodate many people so space isn't really a problem. I think you'll enjoy your time there if you're craving Asian buffet style food. Enjoy!
I've been coming to Mandarin for years. The aromas and atmosphere upon entering has become nostalgic. The restaurant staff and management act very professional, leave a warming impression, and were on point. The service is rarely an issue. The food doesn't compare anymore, and has started to leave a really negative impression on me, even as a buffet I'd still prefer quality over quantity. The sliced pineapple being one of 4 fruits offered was completely inedible. For almost all the food I would rate it at a 2. My favorite part was the alcohol and I personally don't drink. I feel the commercial aspect took priority over the integrity. Really great staff though just not worth the food.
Always a pleasant experience whether or not it is to dine in with their fabulous buffet or recently take out their staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Their employee Kyla took my take out order today and she did very well when handling specific requests and special instructions with our order. And was very friendly on the phone. As was their delivery driver who dropped off our food. He was even earlier than expected which was great. They also do a great job organizing and packing their take out food. No complaints. I would recommend anyone to eat here or call them for take out.
You can have lot of varieties here in $35/per person. Just make sure to go around 6:30pm - 7pm otherwise place gets full.Only issue is people/customers don't respect the food .... they just take in bulk and then it goes waste.Request to restaurant management to put some signs on all the dining table to "Respect the food" as customers can take food 100 times if they want but not to waste.
We had a great time at the Manderin. The food was amazing and the variety allowed us to get exactly what we wanted. I can't remember the last time I had dessert with a meal and I got multiple options. Everything we chose tasted delicious. The staff were curtious and attentive. We'll definitely be back soon.
Amazing service !. We celebrated our little once birthday last month . The staff was very nice. Manager too. There wasn't any rush. We took enough time. Wonderful . Thanks lot for all..
I have always loved the Mandarin Restaurant, as far back as the eighties when I used to go to the first one on Queen St in Brampton. They have pivoted well with the lock-down, and I was able to walk-in and order dinner last week with no issue. If you have never been to dine it at a Mandarin Restaurant, put it on your to-do list as soon as we can go into the restaurants again! An awesome experience.
They just don't know about cross contamination! I ordered the Beef and Broccoli side, while my wife and I were eating it, we both tasted seafood in the beef. I immediately called this location and spoke to the kitchen manager and alerted him to the problem, his reply, what can I do for you? What he needs to do is educate his kitchen staff, imagine if I had a food allergy, I would have probably gone into shock or even worse died. I am extremely let down that restaurants are not following simple protocols for food safety net alone patrons safety. The response by the owner is noted. I wasn't looking for any compensation here, I was alerting your company to train your kitchen staff in regards to cross contamination, to clean their pans prior to cooking other dishes.Others who may have allergies to sea food would have definitely gotten sick
I went there with my two daughters and we enjoy the food and the staff were great too
Great Covid practices.
