Was craving some pakora the other day. I've been coming to Lucky's since I was a kid. It's definitely not the same fresh quality it used to be, and the service is also lacking. The chicken pakora was just decent, but the beef pakora was terrible. Doesn't taste like beef at all. I literally gagged when eating it. The issue with service - I asked the lady at the counter to make sure lime slices got packed in with the pakora, as it usually does. I asked twice - once when placing the order and a second time when I came back to pick it up. Each time the woman at the front told me yes, it comes with the pakora and it'll be in the bag. Well low and behold, I get to the park where we're eating and there are no lime slices. Anyways I called to let her know and she laughed and asked me if I wanted to come back for lime. I would like to say you get what you pay for, but it's not even like Lucky's is cheap. For the price, there are wayyyyyy better spots to get (Hakka) Chinese in Scarborough.
Before Covid I used to go here all the time. Something is different and not in a good way. Manchurian used to be crispy, dark sauce, onions with chilies and now it’s soggy soaked in some red sauce that doesn’t have any flavour other than spicy. The other items I ordered do not taste or look the same which makes me believe this is under new management, new cooks etc. After reading a lot of the other comments with poorly made food I won’t be returning.
I have been a frequent customer for many years. Sad to say the taste is not consistent. Sometimes it tastes good, other times it doesnt. The manchurian fried rice and noodles lacked flavor when i bought it 2 days ago, quite disappointing. However when I bought it 3 weeks ago the taste was delicious. Must be different chefs.
I come here for the chilly beef and their spicy red chicken fried rice which is killer. Only complaint I have is their bad attitude sometimes. They seem like they’re too busy and rich to care. But their food is good
I went therr and the food was goood. It was an exquisite enlightening and heavenly experience. In summary IT Was BussIN
there was more cabbage than rice in my veggie fried rice and was very oily\\nfood . DOES NOT TASTE GOOD AT ALL . that shows how much the chef cares about the food their cooking and sending out\\n\\nive been to over 60 chinese restaurants in the toronto and the worst ones on the list never tasted this bad it was just bland . NO STAR . I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I love their chilli beef. That’s my favourite. Convenient location, parking available, you can order over phone and pay at the time of pick up. But … they messed up my order..twice. Another day they gave my order to someone else! Therefore the three star rating.
The best manchurian chowmein/fried rice my family and I have tried! Everyone I bring here falls in love, their food is super tasty and give an abundance for each plate. Service could be a bit better though, they're usually always busy or try to rush you out near closing time.
Great food, great price point and more than enough quantity. Chilli chicken, Manchurian fried rice, chop suey must try. Great food and quick service.
While the rest of their food was terrible at best, issue I bring up is with the wontons we ordered. They were completely deflated, smelled stale, and tasted weird. Perhaps old oil was used.\\nI don’t know if launching a complaint directly will help but I have completely lost faith in this issue establishment. It’s happened before with the pakoras which looked black-ish as old oil was used for frying.\\nBesides their chili chicken everything else is nothing to rave about.
