Wonderful food in a cozy old school vibe with good service. The highlights here are the beef horfun and the claypot rice. They're just so good! The claypot rice came with the perfect crisps and most of the meats still retain their juiciness. Their congee and cheong fun are also very decent. The only thing I dont like is parking in the plaza is very limited.
好有香港味。咕嚕肉同炸兩可以做到好好食,易做難精,佢哋做到,其他餸就唔使多講啦!
I absolutely love this place! I go regularly and when my family visits from out of town, they always ask to come here. There's a large selection of congee and all of it very tasty! They renovated and changed their name and the place looks even more better. They moved the front doorway closer to the parking lot. There are even dividers between tables which is great to see! Staff is very friendly and accommodating with special orders for congee. I especially love that the tea is served in large cups instead of those tiny little white cups. Stay safe out there friends and be kind to one another!
Congee is not bad but a little more grainy than I like. It is tasty though as they add ginger and scallions to it. The rice rolls could be slightly softer and the dough fritter slightly crisper, but overall it’s not bad. I did like that they gave plenty of noodle roll soy sauce and the sesame and hosin sauce mix. During covid times, I’m finding a lot of takeout places cutting corners on these sauces.
In a small plaza in the corner going east on Sheppard, just past Midland. It's in the same plaza as BMO. It can get quite busy, so parking as is messy... Be warned. This place known for Chinese comfort foods like congee, rice noodle rolls, cassarole rice dishes. They have congee and rice noodle rolls breakfast combos for a limited hours for about 8$ in the morning.Food:Everything came hot. That's the key to the comfort food ... It has to warm your soul...make you take off that scarf, fog up your glasses, etc.We ordered pork liver rice noodle rolls, delicious! Perfectly tender pork liver, wrapped around silky noodles and and draped over the pork liver. I will ask for soy sauce on the side as I like to pour it myself, and perhaps some roasted sesame. I get why they used a green to put in the roll with the pork liver but i felt it would very powered the taste of the pork liver at times.(i just have an unreasonable hatred towards.cooked lettuce) still delicious though!Salted fish with peanut congee, it's ok. Good portion for two people. To be honest wanted it to be a little saltier, but something that I can adjust on my own.hot sweet soy milk.Came in a bowl. Delicious, smooth, but didn't taste that much sugar, be which is what I love!Deep fried dough crueller. It did come hot, but I think it was refried. Which was fine but it served it's purpose with the cone and was a good accompaniment with the congee and soy milk.I'll definitely come again to try some other dishes. COVID practices in place. Felt safe. They have a specific system that makes sense and made me feel like they are trying to keep everyone safe and served.Get the rice noodle rolls for sure!!!!!
Pretty good Hong Kong style/Cantonese style noodles. Service is decent and the place has been remodeled to suit the pandemic times. Would go again.
I was a little skeptical to eat there after reading some of the reviews. However, I was totally pleasantly surprised . I went with 9 friends and all of us loved the food. We ordered a variety of food including hot pot dishes, fried vermicelli noodles, rice noodle rolls and congee. They were all very tasty and I would recommend this place.
OKAY FIRST OFF IF YOU'RE READING THIS YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE RIGHT NOW. If you're on the fence, get off it and come here. By far the most excellent Chinese food I've ever had. Portions are very generous and the quality is out of this world. Great atmosphere and cute little clear dividers make you feel protected without feeling like you're ignored. Their service may be a bit slow, but that is only because ONE person is running the whole front of the restaurant, but that didn't even hinder our experience in any way. (On a Thursday night!) I'm definitely coming back and probably bringing takeaway with me everytime.
Just the best Chinese food around. The veggies are fresh and green. The food is just bomb. I've been overwhelmed moving here by all the choices, and have been underwhelmed by the ones I've tried but Liwans has just gained a very loyal customer!!!
Often lunch after Sunday service via a not short drive with company before 2019 Pandemic. The 腸粉, 粥, 煲仔飯 were our favorites. Busy and might needed short wait. Visit in this Quasi post pandemic time, there has been renovation and less patrons. The atmosphere and food change somewhat. More appreciation to come, enjoy.?
