Great japanese tonkatsu place with a lot of flavorful choice of sauces! We ordered the Original, Red Carbonara and Carbonara Tonkatsu and it was excellent! Definitely worth it!
Absolutely love this place! As an udon lover, the red carbonara dish did not disappoint. Great sized portions and the rustic decor is excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
Food was not bad at all! My first time at a Japanese fusion restaurant and I loved all of it! The cheese crabmeat croquette was so good, tasted like a cheesy potato and the sauce was divine ?The white snow chilli Katsu was very good, especially since I love cheese. The teri-mayo Katsu was also okay but I might have liked it better without the bonito flakes (since I don't particularly like fish/seafood). The atmosphere was very nice and the customer service was also pretty good.

Way better than we expected. We were pleasantly surprised with it. It is as authentic as it gets. Good portion size and reasonable prize for less than 20. Amazing how even the dressing of the salad and the sauces added so much flavour. We had the chicken katsu and the cheese katsu and it was really delicious. Katsuya is now our forever katsu restaurant.
So happy they are in scarbs too. I get the same thing every time, the Terri mayo !!! Number one!!!Edit 1 year later:I still love my Terri Mayo. Food is always fast and fresh. I got it to go this time because I was an annoying last minute customer lol and I was so surprised by how much care and attention was given when packing up the meal. All the sauces came separate so it didn’t get soggy and there was a little window cut in the box for the fried chicken so it could release steam and stay crisp!The karaage chicken is so good!! It comes with a few homemade chips and 3 different sauces and omg the wasabi mayo is amazing.Thanks for another delicious meal!
The service was good. The Chicken Karaage Thighs were nice and crispy. The sauces that came with the karaage were also great. The spicy Korean sauce was my favorite. The Terri Mayo Katsu was delicious as well. I wish they had dessert. Will definitely be back again.
In love with this Katsuya location in Scarborough! The interior is so cute and cozy with the hanging lights! The Japanese Katsuya creamy udon was sooooo delicious! Yummy with a kick!
So far, this is the best Japanese restaurant we've visited (for the tonkatsu) here in Canada. We've come here three times, and each time we've had a fantastic meal. We started with cheese crab meat croquettes and takoyaki, and then moved on to the carbonara, red carbonara, teri mayo, and honeycomb katsu. I prefer the red carbonara because I don't get tired of it like I do with the others.
Been here several times and their katsu always soo good! Highly recommend cheese crabmeat croquette and fries with honey butter powder for appetizer!! My fav katsu are red carbonara and teri mayo!
