The authentic Chettinad food! This restaurant is far away from my place but I would say it was worth the travel.We tried chicken and lamb biryani with chicken 65, veg Manchurian, and filter coffee. The filter coffee is a must-try ? and I loved the way it was served in a traditional tea cup. The food was fresh and delicious except for lamb dishes. Full marks for the food presentation.The ambiance is good and the service is fast. Extra star ⭐️ for the staff's attentiveness and politeness. The staff recommendations are good.Minus point for the lamb preparation, we ordered lamb biryani and lamb appetizer. I find the lamb pieces chewy.. may be stale/uncooked. We find the rest of order fresh and perfectly spicy. Would love to see some improvement in lamb dishes ?.
We’ve been to this place a few times since 2018. The food was okay before. Unfortunately the most recent experience was disappointing to say the least. The portions have gotten so small and the prices have gone up. $12 for the smallest piece of fish. $18.99 for a small bowl of mutton curry with very few mutton pieces. On top of that the curries all tasted the same (we got the fish and mutton curry) and the spices used were so odd. Maybe they got a new chef? But the flavour was so off-putting we will not be coming back and honestly had to eat something else to get taste off the tongue. We all want to support restaurants after covid but using covid as an excuse to charge more, give less and put out off-putting food is unacceptable.
My previous experiences with Karaikudi has always been a positive one with delicious dishes full of flavor and spice.Unfortunately my recent order left me very disappointed. I ordered the paneer butter masala ($14.49) only to receive 6 cubes of paneer amongst a sea of gravy.Although this is a very recommendable restaurant, I would not advise anyone to order the paneer butter masala as the quantity received certainly doesn't reflect the amount paid.
Customer care was excellent , she was friendly and attentive. We ordered mixed noodles,schezwan fried rice and Half tandhoori chicken. Thandhoori chicken was delicious and was the best item in what we ordered. Schezwan Fried rice was also good. But the mixed noodles , felt like eating bland food.Overall the ambiance and south Indian music was definitely appreciably. Definitely go again but never try mixed noodles again.
DELICIOUS!!!! For me it's very midly put in words to describe. I was in love with their food from first bite till the end. Each and every item was very well carefully cooking and taste has been packed in like a gift to open. Mild and pleasant ambiance as well ♥️Wonderful experience and will for sure visit again soon ?
Tried their chettinad chicken and veg korma and they were delicious. The malabar parathas were a little soggy.Madras coffee looked authentic in steel glass and bowl. The aroma was so good but it was a little strong for me. Baby corn chili was delicious.Well, you could get 15% discount if you pay by cash.
Normally the food is very good but I fear Karaikudi is changing a good thing. We normally love the butter chicken here. So much so my wife and I feel it’s the best in the city. But today, after ordering the same dish we usually do, the butter chicken sauce tasted fairly different. It is normally sweet with a very rich taste. Today though, it was salty, not as rich, and different spices were used which altered the taste. Hopefully this review makes it back to the owner as their previous sauce was the best in town. The price was also raised by about 20%, which is fine and worth it if they are still providing the best butter chicken in town, but based on our experience today, scratching the head at why management/ownership wanted to ruin a great thing.
Probably the best Chettinad place in the town. Ensure that you carry cash to get a sweet 15% discount.
Not so crowded. Staffs were polite. Food was authentic and tasted well. Spice levels were okay..!! They have a good outdoor seating which we can use in the season. Parota was flaky and really tasty!
Friendly and fast service eventhough the restaurant was really busy. Food was; as ususal, tasty. Freshly prepared and served hot.Loved the background music.
