I worked and cooked for Freshland. (Western and Star Kitchen)for a year and I can say one of my best journey in kitchen industry. Its challenging but part of learning process. Thanks to Sir Jo Sir X and all of my collègue . More power in Business and all the best. A great place to do your groceries as well . Nearly 3 years @ Marlene Filipino Cuisine . Never thought I'd be leaving a 5 star review for a grocery store but here we are. It's a fairly clean place with lots of variety of food, including a small food court, bakery and halal meat. I come here most often because it's one of the only asian grocery stores where I can find things like tapioca and bulk box of instant noodles. I've also never had any bad encounter with staff, although cashiers can be a bit quiet, I've come to realize it's mainly language barrier.
We were at this store for the first time for some advertised specials. We got the items and picked up several other groceries. Very pleased and happy that it has the Kabul Halal meat as well.The store was clean and the staff was friendly as well.Checked and compared the prices and were pretty good on groceries and Halal meat as well. Also a vast variety of goods.And its a straight road from Taunton, Whitby to Tapscott, Neilson.So FreshLand maintain the prices, keep clean and will be there more often!
The produce section has always fresh fruits ??? and vegetables? ??? but the produce are a bit overpriced. Seafood ???? section has a huge variety of fishes and they always keep fresh item.
My first visit to this location, well organized and clean store. Friendly staff on duty to serve you.Halal meat section was very presentable.Prices are very compatible. Would be nice to have more staff available to speed up the services.Highly recommended to visit and enjoy their weekly specials.
Great place for groceries. Reasonable priced and good service. Also, they have new owners in the Halal meat section who are very friendly, and the quality and prices are excellent. All halal meat come from Kabul farms. They also have small food court and section for product from China. Parking is good and place is adjust to small mall where you can shop for other things. Overall good experience.
It was a fantastic supermarket 2 years ago (5/5).The food court is outstanding that having both Middle East and Asian foods, the downside is too many people bargain for lower price for foods which really brings down other people's shopping experience by wasting time.Supermarket side they are no longer competitive against other Asian supermarkets, same problem with the food court people wasting everyone's time asking for few dollars discount. You may expected to waiting half hour just lining up there thanks to they having only 3 cashiers during busy hours.
Big and clean supermarket. This place has anything and everything you might need in the kitchen, from all over the world! The lines are generally small so less time spent in the checkout.There's a super nice takeout/food court on one side, and groceries on the other. Their takeout has a huge selection of different ethnic cuisines in nice sized portions. The grocery side has a wide variety of very fresh produce and ingredients.However, their customer service isn't the greatest in most departments and checkouts. Certain items are more pricey, but that's to be expected since most stuff is imported goods. BUT buyer beware, check expiration/best before dates BEFORE purchasing anything as they don't do refunds.
Love the halal meat section. I typically go in for that but end up doing most of my groceries here.A nice big supermarket. Some items overpriced but that's expected when they don't wholesale these things. Fresh produce, for a variety of ethnic cuisines.
One of the big size stores in Scarborough. Huge selection of groceries and food.Their fruit section is of amazing quality. The store has a regular butcher, a halal butcher, and live fish section. Their selection of meat and fish is something you will not find anywhere in Scarborough under one roof. Mostly reasonably priced. They also have a food court with different cuisines. With many billing counters, the checkout is fast too. They have renovated a bit recently and started opening small sized novelty stores under the same roof.
