Amazing customer service! The folks here take care of you and everything on the menu is delicious you really can't go wrong. We had the fish pakora and chop suey. One of my favorite Hakka restaurants in Toronto.
The chicken pakoras are great. The fried rice was mushy like it was over cooked. The chili chicken was just ok. I'm used it it being bigger and less saucy.
Good portions but that's about it. The shrimp fried rice had no taste. The ginger garlic beef was soft, not crispy but tasty. They are still using Styrofoam cases for food with gravy, which is silly.
Good place to pick up lunch/dinner.They are only open for take out at the moment. It's always busy from my experience, but the wait for order and pick up is usually quick; 10-15 mins. You can order ahead. They accept Visa for orders over $25. Pay cash if you can for a discount. The front parking lot is usually full, but there's more parking in the back.
Ordered 2 chilli chicken and two other dishes for take take out last night around 8:30pm. I live 2 hours away from and by the time I reached home and opened it, the 2 chilli chicken that I was supposed to get turned into just mix vegetables. When I looked up their number online it said they had already closed so I called today THE VERY NEXT DAY and they denied that I was ever there and refused to do anything about it. The man talking to me was very rude and raised his voice at me. He then sarcastically told me to bring the 2 mix vegetables back and he will give my the 2 chilli chicken.
Before the pandemic Federick was always one of the nicer .But going today I feel like the place has really gone down hill i can only give -1% , 30 mins for white to pick up ready - overall it just felt like they were short-staffed. They also give food is so cold and salt so much . I definitely would not go back knowing how they are now.
Got the Chili paneer and Manchurian veggie fried rice. The veggie fried rice was fine… but the Chili paneer was absolutely disgusting the sauce was good as it’s the same at the Chili chicken sauce but the paneer was so hard and couldn’t even cut properly it was not edible…so upsetting. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality keeps getting worse and worse I’ll be trying new Hakka places from now on. Plus the portion sizes are so small now
Website mentioned that dine in open, when reached there I was closed only take out. So ordered and brought food home. Fish Pakora was the best among other items orders. Chilli chicken is not the same as before as taste is changed for some reason. Price and quantity of food is still good.
Def got to call and place your order a head of time. Decent parking but full from all the take out orders. Great eats and a staple go to place.
I am never coming back here, the franchise is just absolutely terrible.I used to go to Federick in Markham, but stopped going because the service is garbage. In the past, I tried to ignore it because their food tasted so good especially their general tao beef, but they make it so hard for you to turn a blind eye. Every time we went, they acted like you were doing them a disservice by being there.I thought maybe this location would be different...boy was I wrong.SERVICE: I ordered a general tao beef, but they gave me chicken instead. I would've kept the food if it didn't taste so bad. I drove back and they told me they would fix that for me. The server even tried to argue with me that what I had was beef. I think I know the difference between chicken and beef, especially after trying it.After looking at my new meal, which was clearly beef this time, I was offended with the portion they gave. The ratio of rice to meat was absurd. Not only did they inconvenience me by driving back to the location, but they had the audacity to serve me less food?TASTE: The general tao beef here was also terrible, different than the one they make in Markham. In Markham, they make it crispy and it has a little spice to it. This one was soggy and bland and the rice was old.SIDE NOTE: They also took back my original dish that they got wrong... I wouldn't be surprised if they used that to serve someone else.
