Traditional Chinese dessert restaurant in the Scarborough area for over 20 years. Some of the items are very popular and will be sold out early but you can try other items which are also quite good, almost no bad choices.Guys it’s extremely difficult for small local businesses during Covid, so pls be patient when it’s packed and you can try to visit earlier! There will be less people in the afternoon from 3-7pm.
This place is always packed! Be prepared to wait, but the tables move quick. They ran out of the steamed egg with Milk, so ended up getting the boiled egg with milk, country style & the walnut sweet soup.
Beware if you come on a Saturday night before closing. Not sure if it’s always this busy but the place was packed (good for them) but service was so extremely slow. I had to wait almost 30 minutes just for 1 item… They also favour dine in guests way more as another couple walked in right after we placed our order and they ordered 4 things which all came before our ONE item was ready. Portion was decent but not worth the price of almost $10 a mango sago which was not cold enough either.
So happy they reopened for dine-in.. Eating as takeout is just not the same.. One of my favourite dessert to have is their famous: Boiled Ginger Milk. It was even more spicy before but now, I don't find the ginger to be that spicy. Not sure if they changed their recipe. Waiting time: I think the longest I waited was 30 mins. Their turnover is high and they used to even ask you if you wanted to share a table with strangers but with Covid, that is not possible anymore. Most patrons don't overabuse their stay and eat and leave soon after... Their mango desserts are only available during mango seasons. Most of their staff tend to speak Mandarin and English but some staff does speak Cantonese too. I also love they open late.
I drove from downtown just because wanna taste their food so badly. Don’t know they only accept debit or cash before, So I just kindly ask is that possible I can use a MasterCard/visa card or even EMT as I forgot to carry my wallet this time. The staff could just answer me gently instead of answering me extremely rudely! The attitude they treated me like I owe them a million dollars! Unbelievable! Very upset!
During times like these where restaurants should be carrying out safe covid protocols....I watched as the server here put down my food onto someone else's table. The group at the table tried to tell her it wasn't theirs but she told them to wait and went to put food down at another table instead. My food sat at these strangers tables as they chatted and quite possibly spat over it for some time before she went back to find out it wasn't theirs. She then brought it over to my table.I had to confront her about it before asking her to take it away. This is not acceptable especially during COVID.
Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!!We got Steamed Egg White w/ Milk and Rice Balls w/ Peanut Crush. The Egg White w/ Milk was so rich in milk flavour, silky smooth, not overly sweet, though it’s not as good as the ones we had in HOME Kong, it was still really delicious. The Rice Balls were chewy, the crushed Peanut had a really nice crunch and the shredded coconut along with sugar had a nice sweetness to it!
Can’t find many similar dessert places anymore and glad that there’s still one in Scarborough. Traditional place and I think it’s worth to go if you are around the neighborhood. Covid is going away soon and it’s getting packed.
