There are two times I generally write reviews... when something is great and beautiful, and when something is horrible and nasty.This is one of the latter.Coffee Culture is pretty close to me, and I hadn't checked them out before. I was meeting some friends in the area and decided to try them out. I arrived a little before my friends, so went to wash my hands while I was waiting.The aged lady at the counter rudely stops me and tells me that I can't use the bathroom unless I buy something first.Now if a business decides to do that, no problem. It's your shop.If you speak to your guests rudely in doing so though... different story.Feel free to try them if you like. I don't reward people for rude behaviour. Too many other shops, run by friendly deserving people nearby. Goodbye Coffee Uncultured...
Had a delicious pastry and cappuccino, lots of comfortable seating and very clean inside.Was quieter when I dropped by and they served me right at my table, good customer serviceLooks like they’re near a local college and have had to enforce stricter seating and outside food/drink rules to keep seating for paying customers vs students not buying anything and taking seating all day, which is totally understandableThe above seems to have led to some bad reviews…not my experience at all
19-April-2022Coffee Culture is one of my favourite brews, so this is a sad review applicable to this location only. Up to today I was a frequent and known customer who, if working, would either order breakfast, coffee, a snack or lunch every couple hours as I understand this is a restaurant business. I would also bring my water bottle on my backpack. Today it was implied that I was sneaking in outside beverage. I offered to show it was water, and yes, the hostess insisted on seeing it, so I showed her. At this stage she implied I was bringing hot water to make tea!! I took this as a direct insult to me.I go to a coffee shop to meet friends and colleagues, have a coffee/meal over conversation in a clean and pleasant environment. I am usually an understanding and tolerant person so I didn’t let this spoil my morning. I had my breakfast, enjoyed my conversation with my friends and left without a word…… never to return to this establishment!!——————————————————16-May-2022I believe in second chances as we all can make mistakes sometimes. Today, I returned, with no sort of expectation. While placing my order, I was surprised when the hostess told me she was disappointed and hurt by my review, especially since it came from me, who she recognize as a regular and respected customer. She would have preferred, if I felt disrespected, to talk to her before leaving the restaurant, which I acknowledge would have been a good way to express how I felt and to give her an opportunity to stand by her action or correct any misunderstanding. I felt better that she brought this up with me today, proving that one to one dialogue is always better. As usual the food and coffee was very good.
I’ve been coming here since I was in high school and I’ve always liked it, they have good food, it’s always very clean and has a nice ambiance!However when I came in today with my boyfriend (it was his first time here), the woman behind the counter sneered at me when I asked for a cup of water along with the muffin and the chai latte we ordered. She very rudely said that I can buy a bottle. The attitude was completely unnecessary, I’m fine with buying a bottle of water, no need to look at me like with such a foul expression. When we asked for the wifi password she walked away without a word, grabbed a paper with the password and just shook it toward us from the other end of the counter.The man who works here is very nice, he’s usually here and gives good customer service. The woman on the other hand, is clearly miserable, and I find it sad how much she hates people. I wasn’t surprised to see all the one star reviews were because of her. I won’t stop coming because it’s convenient and everything else is great. But if you are offended easily or expect to be treated with respect, don’t come here! Unless she’s not here, then you’re golden.
Despite what everyone is saying about this shop. It's really bad. Specially the lady that's working there. She really is rude and she will make your life really hard ordering there. They don't have a lot of coffee variety despite being a coffee shop. Wouldn't recommend on going here. The lady here is really something else. Your money is better spent somewhere else.
Do not come here, the middle aged lady is so rude and she's really annoying. It's like she's ordering you around and you need to buy multiple stuff in order to get a seat. The lady is really rude and the coffee options tiny despite being a coffee store. Place would be really amazing if the customer service is good. I wouldn't recommend going here tho because the lady is rude.
I had a horrible experience today, also with the middle aged lady.I was at the counter with my friend, reading through the drinks menu so I could order.The lady didn't even give me a few minutes to read the menu to decide - she said "what are you going to do, just stand and talk?"I decided it's not worth it and left.Don't come here expecting a warm and welcoming environment.
Welcome to a coffee shop with free wifi for customers only. Family fitting dining tables. Very friendly staff and assortment of sandwiches, desserts and drinks. All day breakfast for just $3.99 plus tax.Thank you guys for your services throughout the year.
It’s nice sitting place but the Indian women working there came and start arguing with my family because we had a bottle water for a kid. We bought coffee and dessert from there but she started to make a scene and asking us to leave the restaurant because of my child bottle water and accusing us of making the place risk for Covid. Very disrespectful women and doesn’t know anything about how to treat customer. I prefer Tim Hortons. Not coming back anymore.
I came here with my friend who was new to the country because I've always liked the vibe at coffee culture and wanted to show her this place. My friend brought with her a cake which she purchased from somewhere else, but we came in to have a coffee and lunch at coffee culture. My friend did not know the rules that outdoor food was not allowed and we honestly did not notice the signage on the door. The person working there was kind and told us we are not able to eat outside food in their cafe, I was surprised since we bought coffee and was planning to buy lunch there as well-At least they had customers because the restaurant was empty. I then proceeded to explain to my friend and the woman working there came out and started to raise her voice, even accusing us of being irresponsible bringing in outside food and increasing their risk of covid? This was dramatic and not needed. I was trying to talk to my friend but the woman continued to speak with us and her even though I tried to explain to her that my friend did not speak english and that we understood the rules she continued to make a scene.I respect that outside food is not allowed and did not know my friend would open her cake in the store to eat.The way they spoke to us was not needed and I won't be back at this location. Also they did not even check our vaccine passport and ID.
