This was one of the best sushi spots in Toronto! Amazing food! GREAT SERVICE! I wasn’t even hungry and I inhaled my food!!! That’s how good it was! Dessert was also on the house btw! I never knew grapefruit ice cream existed let alone how delicious it is! The decor is stunning, such an exciting and fun vibe! See
Absolutely fantastic. We came here to celebrate birthdays. Big or small they will make you feel welcome and well accommodated.Food is amazing and fresh. Try the Wagyu sushi, anything uni, and o-toro sushi.Customer for life!
Impressed by the fresh sashimi and delightful appetizer! The Egg White topping cocktail is highly recommend! Must go there again! Also efficient and great service too!
If you appreciate good food, you NEED to visit this place. I wish I knew about this restaurant sooner cause WOW was I missing out!My friends and I ordered a bunch of dishes and EACH DISH DID NOT DISAPPOINT. All very beautifully presented and the taste of each dish is SO good, you don't want to share (lol). The chef and cooks clearly know what they're doing and are very experienced in the type of quality in taste and presentation they want to deliver to their customers. To enhance the experience of our visit, each booth had their own shoji screens which made it feel more authentic and a unique experience different from other Izakaya spots.I truly wish this restaurant more success and recognition because you can clearly taste just how passionate the chef and cooks are about the food they create and present.
@akaoniizakaya ???This Lobster Don ($25.99) was just divine. Chunks of grilled lobster Shimeji mushrooms & corn in their Devil sauce which was aromatic and buttery. Tasted so good …. Will definitely go back for this.We also had the dynamite roll. Beautiful presentation and generous sized pieces of sushi. The Tempura appetizer came with 2 large sized prawns and the batter was light and crispy and came with tempura veggies. Will be back soon!!
Loved this place for the sushi & it’s rolls! Nigiri & sashimi were fresh, great selection. If you know your fishes, definitely go here. I was fangirling over the nigiri selection because there were a few fishes I’ve had at Omakase that aren’t served at normal restaurants like these but Aka-Oni had a great selection. We got the king crab creamy ramen and lobster devil-don, both of which were ok! Ramen was rich & creamy for $31.99 and same for the Lobster-don! Lobster was less fresh and you can taste it.Sashimi was great. Tuna was a bit fishy but overall great experience.Would come back for the sushi rolls and stick to sashimi/nigiri/fish. Maybe would try the normal ramen bowls next time ?
By far the BEST place for sushi and sashimi! Had a get together for a friend's birthday here and honestly was so amazed at how fresh and delicious everything was! We enjoyed the sushi platters, the staff was kind enough to split the platter into two portions for our table of 7 to share comfortably without reaching over each other. Also got a bunch of other dishes for us to try and did not disappoint. The Bang Bang Sake ikura Uni Don was fantastic! I dont have enough high praises for these guys so go check them out! :D
This is a great Japanese restaurant. The sushi was fresh and good quality. There’s a wide variety of food on the menu, from sushi to sashimi to veggie friendly. It was a busy place though it was late at night. I think this restaurant is popular in the Scarborough area. Pricey but it’s worth every penny spent. Highly recommended.
Truly wowed by this place. I never had raw octopus before and was hesitant it be too fishy tasting but wow- it was one of my favourite dishes of the night! I also really loved the ‘black diamond’ sushi. Incredible food and wonderful service!?
It’s always such a good time whenever i dropped by Aka Oni Izakaya! They have a really good selection of food, sashimi and sushi. Personally, I always grab the black diamond roll. It’s a combination of foie gras, tobiko, unagi, flecks of gold on some pretty looking purple rice. Their maki rolls are always super innovative, interesting and unique. The sashimi we had was also super fresh! The otoro and scallops being our faves of the night. This is such a chill spot to grab drinks and some delicious Japanese bar food & sushi/sashimi. There was also quite a decent size yakitori selection that im curious to try for next time!Definitely one of our personal favourite izakaya in the GTA~
