We were pleasantly surprised since we have never been here before. We ordered the set meal for eight even though there were only 5 of us. Everything was good, large portion. Friendly staff. It was a really hot day out and it was warm inside. It must have been hard to cool this place since the ceiling was so high. I was soaked in sweat, but it was still great with good food and good friends.
Among the best value for taste in Richmond Hill is Elegance Dim Sum Cuisine! It’s more than a dim sum place, as it also serves up a lobster dinner set menus and a wide selection of combos. We really enjoyed their special set for 2, including double lobsters (2.5 lbs). It also comes with soup, along with stir-fried beef with honey & black pepper sauce. The lobster is small in statue but the succulent meat is sweet & savoury in the popular Maggi sauce or ginger & onion. We’ve also tried many dishes from their combo choice menu. Fried fish in creamy corn sauce is light yet satisfying. Salt & pepper pork chop was hearty. Shrimp with Maggi sauce was good, and could’ve been better hot from the kitchen.Their dim sum was only available frozen during lockdown restriction. Surprisingly, takeout dim sum items were outsourced and didn’t taste great at home. Hence we haven’t tried their dine-in now despite the spacious high ceiling interior.
Decent dim sum and settings, love the high ceilings and the fish ball noodle soup served with deep fried fish skins. Note that all day dim sum special has gone up in price $5.5 for S,M,L.
Located in an old plaza uphill near junction of Leslie and 16th, it used to be a popular restaurant 25 years ago. Now it faces a lot of competition and is not as busy as before. The place is nice with a very high ceiling, giving a spacious and comfortable feeling. Food is good and price is reasonable. They have announced a number of rare dishes which require advance orders. A good place for Chinese cuisine
Authentic Cantonese restaurant, friendly service, reasonable priced.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality & portion size of their dim sum dishes; fresh, hot and made to order, what not to like? ? Not to mention all sizes (S,M,L) were STILL at $4.50/each everyday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm -- A phenomenal you won't often find restaurants continue to offer single-pricing these days in a post-pandemic world with inflation approaching a 31-year high.At the time of writing I ordered one of their lunch specials (written in Chinese on a green piece of paper), which ranged from $8.99 - $9.99 with a variety of made fresh to order rice dishes, stir-fry noodle(s), soup noodle(s), etc., all of which included your choice of hot coffee, HK style milk tea or (鴛鴦) yuenyeung tea or lemon tea/water. Iced options is also available for an extra $1.50. A bargain IMO especially coming from a (酒樓) Cantonese style restaurant.*Note: The food quality maintained the same from my second try. Overall, I'd rate this restaurant to be a "worthy of return" ?
We came here because the place we wanted to go was full. But pleasantly surprised. It did get busier as the lunch hour progressed. They were offering S-M-L dimsum items flat rate 4.50 which is a great deal considering the inflationary climate. As can be imagined, a third of items were XL/SP with higher prices. They also had other promos on the menu like fishball noodles but we did not have a chance to try. The har-gow was decent, with chunks of solid shrimp that tasted very fresh and "above-average" in my experience. The char-siu rice noodles were a bit fragile; hard to move onto my bowl without breaking, but generous in the meat filling and quite good taste-wise. Would go again.
For dinner, you can forget about this place. The food is horrible, poorly cooked and not fresh. My wife has diarrhea for two days, and I finally vomited. The menu choice was not that many, so we took what was recommended. Bad decision! Service is nothing more than ok. And miscalculated the bill. Hope they can improve and not aim to rip off first time patrons.
Dinner is good, price is reasonable, I will do another reveiw later. This is a review of the servers. Nothing "Elegance" about the service, don't know why the rush to get us served (e.g. the soup) while there is not too many customers in the dinner room! We have 6 to our table, somehow only 5 (soups) were being served, portion of it spilled. Have no idea of how to position the dishes so the dinner can ALL fit into the table.Perhaps; some training for the servers to live up to your name"Elegance".
The food was decent, but the service was terrible. Other than serving regulars, and giving them some care. We weren't provided a menu until asked, and we were left sitting for over 25 mins with no one able to take our order. The restaurant is very understaffed.
