Been craving hk style diner food lately and decided to come by here for lunch.[ Chicken & Pork chop on fettuccine w/ gravy ] Both cutlets were cooked beautifully skin on chicken had a nice crisp to it and I chose to go with fettuccine as side for the first time instead of rice and was pleased on how much better it paired with the meal(imo).[ French Toast ] The diner also sell fresh pastries here as well so I knew I was in for a treat when ordering the french toast. The freshness of the bread really sets them apart. Great little fluffy goodness topped with butter and condensed milk.[ Curry fish ball ] I like the texture of the fish ball. It's firmness is spot on where it doesn't seem overly processed like ones that you find in supermarket/hot pot restaurants. Coated with curry, great combination. The food was great and staff here are friendly. However I do feel like they're understaffed. So I would suggest you ask for extra napkins (if you're a messy eater like me) while they take your order as it can be hard to get a hold of staff later because they're so busy.
Welcome this new fusion restaurant / bakery to Markham area. I ordered a curry beef brisket on the rice for my lunch. The brisket is very soft. The curry sauce strikes a beautiful balance between curry, herbs, coconut milk and some other components. The rice is well cooked and soft. The chef is generous in providing the brisket. The curry sauce is also abundant. You can have your last spoon of rice with curry. The iced milk tea is silky and not very sweet. Nice.Looking forward to try other dishes and their bakery next time.
First time to try this Starchiva restaurant. Interior was very cozy & nice decor. Staff was friendly. Price was decent and portions were big. We tried the Signature Starchiva BBQ Pork & Egg on Rice, Beef Brisket on Rice Noodle soup and Black Pepper Sauce w Chicken Breast on Fettucine. Food was pretty delicious and full of HK style flavors. They offer fresh baked HK bakery $2.99 for most of buns or $12 for 6. Free in house cake dessert order after 4pm during weekday with selected choices. Will definitely visit again.
We were amazed by our first dining experience here 6 months ago. The signature BBQ pork was juicy, and the vermicelli soup was delicious. Although the waitresses were not friendly, the prices were reasonable and the quality of the ingredients was good, so at least 4 stars.Since January this year, the prices have gone up quite a bit, which is understandable, but the quality has gone down badly. The Vermicelli soup became cloudy and sour, no longer the soup it used to be. BBQ pork is hard to bite into, with lots of tendons. The chicken cutlet is no longer made-to-order, dry and hard. very disappointed.
This was my first time here and I don’t even know there is a little restaurant here when I by pass it everyday. The sign isn’t very eye-catching so maybe it’s hard to realized that’s a restaurant. But I’m surprised once I stepped in, it’s a very cozy place. They have a many choice for the HK cafe style breakfast and they also sell bakery here!! I will definitely come back again to try out more dishes from their menu.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!!We got the Signature Starchiva BBQ Pork & Egg on Rice, Curry Beef Brisket on Rice and Baked Double Cheese w/ Bacon Mushroom Cream Sauce on Fettucine. The BBQ Pork & Egg on Rice came loaded with tender, delicious BBQ Pork, along with a hard boiled egg, served on a bed of rice, it was SO GOOD! Curry Beef Brisket on Rice came in such a delicious curry base, on the sweeter side, we could taste the coconut milk in it, it also had a fair amount of tender beef brisket! The Baked Fettucine came in such a great portion, the sauce was creamy, flavourful but we thought it had too much sauce…
ocated in the Times Square plaza off Hwy 7, will need to look carefully as front entrance is small and dark and located on plaza side away from other restaurants.Corn beef and egg sandwich was spot on, ordered bread toasted cuz I like toast, generous filing.4 large pieces of deep fried chicken wings, be careful as it comes very hot right from the deep fryer. Crunchy exterior with moist meat. First bite is an explosion of hot goodness. Now if you're really hungry, order the pork chop ( or other protein) rice, comes with 2 large slabs of protein slathered in a sauce of your choice. My god, who eats this much for lunch. Made a wise decision, ate half a pork chop and looked forward to eating the rest at homePerfect comfort food to eat at home while watching BTS YouTube videos, "Butter" me up.
The beef brisket pho was good, the rice noodles were soft and fresh, and the chicken wings were crispy. Good spot for a light snack.
This place has surprisingly delicious food. Had the pork chop on rice with tomato sauce. It was nicely cooked and well presented. The service is a bit slow so that took it down a bit, but overall I would recommend trying this place out if you are looking for tasty and good value HK styles food.
