For appetizer to get things going got the Chicken Karage, Takoyaki, Fried Squid, and Wasabi Tacos and they were crunchy, flavorful, and fresh. For the main got the Chicken Curry Udon and it was very creamy, and flavorful. My taste buds also got a bit of cheesy after taste "similar to mac & cheese."One thing they have to expand the place because if you go with large crowd you'll have to eat fast as the place can get busy. We went with about 20 people and had to rush eating a bit!

Small dining space and potentially waiting list. I bought take out, I can say, I was amazed with our choices of Curry Chicken Udon and Maze Udon. The Curry chicken had added cheese and made it normal Japanese curry to a new level! Maze udon was also amazing! It's a small simple menu, prices might be a little steep but the flavour is profile will really surprise you. I definitely will come back when I need to treat myself and let my wallet slip a little. It's cute they have instructions on how to eat their udon dishes.

Mikaku is a cool spot for a tasty bowl of noodles. Imagine, an izakaya with udon on the menu that was so popular that they opened a place specializing in just udon! We visited on a pouring Friday evening to find a packed house, but were seated in 10 minutes. Staff allowed us to wait inside. The Spicy Cream Udon was calling to me. It did not disappoint! Like a pasta carbonara, udon noodles were served in a rich creamy sauce with bacon & onion. It was too good to not dip in baguette. Mussels, shrimp, bacon, onions & flying fish roe rounded out the seafood toppings. This fusion dish had a decent spicy kick balanced out by the creaminess. Portions are such that you won't leave stuffed. We also tried their popular Maze Udon, accompanied by a separate soup. What's fun & perplexing is that rice is served into the bowl after finishing udon, to soak up all of the delicious flavours. The garnishes included dried bonito, grounded pork, fresh green onions, chives, garlic, seaweed, egg yolk & sesame harmonized by sweet soy sauce.Mikaku Udon Bar has a small menu, comprising of 7 udon bowls along with a handful of sides such as chicken karaage & taco wasabi. The small restaurant team was efficient & courteous. Sometimes less is more; that seems to hold true here!

New udon place in Richmond hill! The restaurant is cute and cozy and I love the art/paintings! I decided to try the mala udon and was surprised how strong the mala flavour was and how spicy it was. I have a pretty high spice tolerance so It was perfectly spicy for me! My friend tried the spicy cream udon and it came with a variety of seafood. It also wasn’t too spicy but still had a nice kick to it. The udon noodles were cooked well and was nice and chewy. We also got a chicken karaage to share and it was pretty good. I did wish it was a bit crispier but the homemade sauce was honestly soo good! Follow @time2sikfan on IG for more content! ☺️

One of my favourite place for udon! So chewy, smooth and bouncy. My favourite dish would be the Spicy Cream udon the spicy cream sauce is so rich and savoury coating every string of noodle. I also recommend the Maze udon the sauce is so light and refreshing perfect for hot days, it also comes with a bowl of white rice so you can finish the sauce! The servers were also very nice and attentive.

Maze udon (soup-less noodles) is such a great deal; it is essentially two meals for $16.99! One part: noodles mixed in a flavourful meat sauce with a slight kick topped with an egg yolk, one part: rice mixed with remaining flavourful meat sauce. Spicy cream udon is also good with the perfect level of heat. Cannot split bills.

It's a taste that everyone would like.

No matter how many times I visited there, they provided the same good taste and service.

Came here 2 weeks ago craving udon and we didn't call ahead to reserve. Lucky the wait wasn't long and it was about 5 mins. Great Service and Delicious Food! We will come again!

Mikaku Udon Bar - Who doesn't love a QQ bite of udon noodles? Such amazing texture and a very tasty sauce.I copped the Maze Udon which you mix, mix, mix and consume. Once you're done, you're give a small bowl of rice to stir, stir, stir in with the remaining sauce. A total chef's kiss moment! Can't wait to take the wifey so she can get her noodle fix. ?☺️#TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot#HappyWifeHappyLife
