Jim Chai Kee used to be my place to go for noodles with great quality and price... $7 per bowl of Wonton noodle soup now cost $12! What a shock! Got my takeout on Saturday and barely anyone inside the restaurant around noon when it is a supposingly busy time... I don't get how Covid justify 71% increase within 2 years?!?!? Maybe Covid got to the owner's head and think that $12 CAD (equivalent to $74 HKD) for a bowl of wonton is reasonable ???‍? Won't be returning anytime soon!

One of Richmond hill's finest takeout spots. Despite how quick the service is (call them and they'll prepare your order in 10 mins for takeout), the wontons, noodles and broth always taste unbelievably fresh and flavorful. The portions are sizable. Pictured is the delicious shrimp and beef wonton lo-mein soup. Give it a shot if you haven't tried it out. You won't regret it.

VERY RUDE ATTITUDE, CONSTANTLY SNEEZING STAFFI went in to order take-out and I do not know that there is a very tiny container of chili sauce inside the bag. I was going to get the very tiny containers available for self-serve to put some chili sauce and some vinegar. This female staff who wears glasses yelled at me and said I cannot take from there. It is either one tiny container of chili sauce or vinegar, not both. If I want more, it is 25 cents each. I do not mind she tells me the charge if she is polite, but the way she talked and her attitude were really rude for no reason. I did not talk back at that time because I needed to return to work. I just took my take-out as is. I am so upset of her extremely disrespectful behavior that I decided to call the wonton shop. She answered the phone and I asked for the owner, she hung up on me. I called again and another female staff answered the phone. I asked for the owner and she said the owner is not there. I asked her if the man that I just saw is the owner and she did not answer me. I told her the reason for my call and she told me to call back in the morning but did not tell me which day. I do not think I will be able to speak to the owner by phone because they will be the ones who answer the phone. I do not know why the store owner hires this type of person. She was also constantly sneezing. I will not go back to eat in this place !The rating is very negative. I chose one star to allow me to post my review.

Best wonton soup i always pass by every time by years go Toronto.

WILL NOT BE COMING HERE ANYMORE.The food is good and simple Asian wonton noodle soup but the service is so horrible. The woman working there has no sense of manners, speaks rudely, and doesn't make any of her customers feel welcome. I decided to give them a second chance recently and the outcome was the exact same. I'd much rather go to big trio or another Jim chai kee location.Disgusted.

Best wanton noodles in Toronto. Super big &Yummilicious wanton.

After coming here for over 25 years, sadly I won’t be coming back. The food has noticeably declined and they increased the prices again. The wonton mix is unrecognizable as to what it was before. Not a marinated stuffing, just whole pieces of shrimp with no seasoning. Because it’s whole pieces of shrimp, every single wonton falls apart as you lift them. The soup has remarkably no flavour. I’m just so confused, I came here three times in the summer and it was the same, consistently delicious food then.

This place is a self serve restaurant where you order, pay and find your own table. You get your own water and condiments (chili oil, vinegar) at the pick up table. No condiments for take out as said on the sign. Food is still good. Their menu is insanely expensive. Everything on menu is $12, even a plate of Plain veggie.

Good shrimp wonton noodle place.Stopped going here years ago because the soup was too salty, but they've fixed that.Shrimp wontons are great. Large and tasty. It is pricey now, though. Cash only.

The worst experience ever.I have been to this place since 2016, it used to be my go-to restaurant of wonton noodle soup. The previous gentleman owner is a super nice guy, I really appreciated his kindness.Things change since somebody took over this restaurant. The new owner is a really rude Hong Kong lady. She yelled at us in Cantonese dirty language. Let me share my story with you guys.Me and my friends were there for lunch yesterday. There is $12 for a bowl of wonton soup, which is pricey.. but that’s okay, not a big deal. We even tipped $4 for the lunch with absolutely no service. After we finished the meal, the rude owner yelled at us in Mandarin to ask us to clean the table and bring back the tray and bowls. My friend was angry cuz we already tipped them. Then my friend asked them to return the tips to us since we need to clean the table by ourselves. The owner did so. But she scolded us in Cantonese “cheap閪”. She thought nobody of us can understand Cantonese! But sorry, I am a native speaker of Cantonese. How the heck a owner can say something so dirty to a customer? Just because we asked for the tips back for the worst service ever?I won’t come back to Jim Chai Kee ever.
