Ever wonder what newspaper texture tastes like? Come to Chako, order any meat item and you will find out really quickly. If you don’t like/can’t handle spicy, well good luck to you - they either serve you meat marinated with all sorts of spice or raw frozen rock hard slices. Kitchen is probably just used for opening prepackaged sauces and menu items.Honorable mention: Lamb is suspiciously stinky. I grow up in Muslim neighborhood I know what lamb should smell like.If it was cheap I believe I could have sucked it up. However, $45 after tax per person yet this is what people get?Disclaimer: I don’t eat out often. We were in the area, everyone in the group was tired and hungry and other places in the plaza were packed. That’s why we ended up visiting this restaurant. What a MISTAKE.
We haven’t been to chako for years and decided to come here for a casual Friday night dinner. After their new renovation, the dining room are mostly booths, the quality of the food are much better than before, we don’t smell like been barbecued is a plus. They have new items on the menu now, but I’m not a big fan of their beef finger meat and mussel cocktail. However, beef short ribs, lamb and flame tiger rolls are must try. Special thanks to Wei Wei(the hostess), Ling(our server) and Joyce(the manager), who bought us this great dining experience!
Great service. Great atmosphere. We really wanted this place to be great. As a Korean Canadian trust me when I say the Kimchi is not authentic. Not even close. Why is it so sweet? All the meat had red chili peppers which was a problem for the kids.Meat quality was also subpar. Gyubee or daldongnae nail that in spades. Chako.. Meat quality needs big improvement. Rice.. Another huge miss. No lettuce? Offering sushi is a good move.. But lacks a lot of choices. Overall... Subpar quality meats. Salty or too sweet marinades. Bad Kimchi. Lacks variety of choices..Someone said ice cream was the only highlight.. Yes I concur. Most bad reviews were from months ago.. Prior to renovation. I wondered why.. Until I was told of a promo where if we show a Google review we get a discount (or some perk). I didn't write one until I got home to do a proper review... Rather than a "promoted" review.I sincerely hope the owner(s) do see these reviews and take note. Chako.. Overall was a miss. I wished them to be great. But came out disappointed. One last thing. Tip was included.. But they ask for tip again via the Machine. Another miss... . Gyubee and others don't even give you that option to add more tip.Price? Family of 4.. Ended paying more than we normally pay at Gyubee and daldongnae. I wish they had chakos spacious atmosphere in retrospect.
Absolutely love this restaurant. I went with a large group (9 people) for my birthday and everyone loved it. The staff was super friendly and nice and the food was delicious. They have a new system where you scan a QR code so you can send your order in over the phone which was so convienent!!Huge selection of food, especially on the weekends and like I said it was all delicious. A perfect choice for dinners if you have a large group of hungry people.
Everything from the food, design, and service is amazing. My family and I went there and walked out, completely satisfied. The restaurant was just newly renovated, and they nailed the look. There were a variety of items to choose from, like different meats, sushis and rolls, a plethora of side dishes, as well as a wide range of drinks. The grill was perfectly convenient. The staff there were amazing as well. Requests were done quickly, and they carried a nice personality. Be careful though. Do not order more than you can chew! You will be charged for any leftovers.
Nice food and service . Ribs is great !
Awesome place. Only outdoor dining during renovations but tented area is kept warm when needed with heaters. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent. The selection of meat is very good and even some sushi options to choose from. My son loves going here and working the grill. A great experience. If you have never gone to a Korean bbq restaurant then definitely go.
Food was awful, service sucked and the place stunk so bad of smoke because of no ventilation. They also never checked for covid vaccination. Felt a little unsafe in that regard. They also charge a service fee on the bill, and the for the service, and food we got it was outrageously expensive $144 for 3 people all you can wad with not a tone of food. Do not recommend one bit.
this place isn’t bad if you want basic kbbq. Taste food, and the all you can eat can really satisfy your cravings. I always find myself waiting so long for service understandable now due to the circumstances
So this place isn’t at all what it used to be. It literally is a hot box of smoke, even when on the patio. The food was overall terrible, the meat was no where near good. Your better off going to Korean grill, least the food has flavor. Really disappointed in this place.
