We visited this 1915 Lan Zhou Ramen several times and there's always plenty of room on weekends. We ordered from the assortment of hand-pulled noodle bowls, and watched as the noodle chef pounded away at the soft dough. Lanzhou-style noodles are quite popular these days. This definitely gave noodles a bouncy texture and a nice long noodle pull. Noodle strings can range from silk string to thick flat ribbons. I had the regular noodles with fried chicken and egg, for which soup was light but noodles were aplenty and chicken cutlets were satisfyingly crunchy. My wife tried noodles with braised beef brisket chunks which were more flavourful in comparison. Our recommendation is to order the Sichuan Crisp Pork. This side dish is quite addictive like eating meat skewers. We appreciated the crispy, tenderness of the meat, as well as the cumin flavour. If anything, we'll be back just to have this again with the mains. Noodles themselves are decent & similar to other Lanzhou-style noodle shops popping up in town.
Noddle texture is good but don't get it why their noodle soups all tastes curry. If that's the way they cook, they should mention in the menu.
Went for lunch with a group of friend, thought the taste was a little blend for me, still enjoyed the experience overall.
I ordered the pulled noodles with braised beef brisket ramen. It tastes ok, but its not ramen. I would say its closer to pho than anything. The noodles had a great texture but, the braised beef was underwhelming. At least half of the beef pieces were just cartilage l, so I do not recommend getting what I ordered. The only reason this is not a 2 star review is because it was a hot lunch on a -24 C day.
We went there during weekend lunch, not a lot of people inside. We ordered Sichuan crisp pork, spicy beef tripe, and the big bowl noodle. The spicy beef tripe tasted really good, I would highly recommended it.There were different kinds of meat inside the big bowl noodle, and the huge amount of noodle was able to fit for 3 people. There were only few pieces for Sichuan crisp pork… wishing could be more for that price…
I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express and spotted this place across the road. I've never had ramen before but I've had friends say it was quite good so I thought I would give it a try. The servers were friendly and followed COVID guidelines, ordering was simple, and the food was so good I decided to write this review before I even finished. I got the A05 and it was a delight to eat with lots of variety in taste and substance but be warned it was a bit spicy for me. On top of that the chef was evening hand pulling noodles behind the counter which was fun to watch, over all I thoroughly recomend.
Fresh noodle awesome soup. Highly recommended!!
Portion was below average in Toronto.Taste was a little bit salty but overall was good.Food came really slow. My husband finished his dish before our appetizer came. And we also had to cancel an order before it didn’t come til we finished everything.
1915 hand pulled noodle with beef decent. Pretty tasty soup but beef so-so: a bit bland & tough. Noodles OK: somewhat chewy, not springy. The pickled radish piece was a nice addition to the soup.
Sichuan crispy pork had crispy light batter but tasted very plain. They had the usual Chinese service standard with no preemptive water refills.
