The food was great as lays, however thevservice that day (a Saturday) was quite slow. Sign at front says to wait to be seated, after waiting for 10-15 minutes (only 2-3 tables were being used) we had to go look for someone. Once seated, everything was fine, except the server did not check up on us once until we flagged them down to ask for the bill.Probably severely understaffed, which is why it's a 4* review still, and besides, the food itself was excellent .
First time trying this burger joint out yesterday. A bit on the pricier side, but great tasting burgers! I ordered Son of a Beech, my husband ordered Sk8er Boy and took out a wagyu burger. The Beechhouse sauce on my burger was flavourful. My husband never thought of ever adding peanut butter to his burger but he will now! No complaints with the take out.The only thing I would mention is that the 1st server who initially served our table (female) lacked communication skills. She quickly came by to get our order when I wasn't ready, then never returned. My husband then saw her get ready to leave. We were the only ones seated at the time. I went up to another server (male) who ended up being our 2nd server. He just arrived at his shift and wasn't aware about our table as the female server apparently didn't tell him. Regardless, he was friendly and helpful, we were happy with his service.
I had their "knock your plants off" burger (which is a veggie burger) and it was great! If you're looking for a veggie burger but really craving a big juicy burger, this is the place to get it!
The works has an amazing variety and the freshest burgers! A bonus is that the owners are very nice and do a lot of work for the community. Great place, we can never go wrong with the Works
The burger was good but undercooked... I was the only one in the place so that didn't make any sense. The portion were okay but on the light side. Nothing was really explained to me even though I indicated it was my 1st time there. The pop machine mix ratios were off making my ginger aile taste bad. The server was okay but not really invested, checking his phone and talking with the kitchen. All in all not the best experience (since the price is so high) but not the worst either. Would I go back?.... I believe in second chances but let's just say I am not running!
I would like to start off this review by saying the food does taste great at the Pickering location. My issue is the fact that they no longer allow you to order take out food off of the lunch menu. I like to pre-ordered my lunch and go pick it up since I only have a 30 minute lunch break. I had to go in and sit down at the table wait for them to serve it to me on a plate so I can then ask them to pack it up so I could take it back to work. I think that it’s rather ridiculous. My opinion is that they are just trying to get more money off of the customers because apparently you can order takeout off of the regular menu but you can’t order takeout off of the lunch special menu. That is unfair.
Food is good but I have picked up half a dozen times from here and they are never ready, even if there's nobody else in the restaurant. I will buy them a clock for the wall for next Christmas
The food here is fantastic. The Blues burger in particular is amazing. I may be lactose intolerant, but I'm willing to fight for my life later that night for a Blues burger any day.
Food was delicous. Substantial portions. So yummy.
I’ve always loved The Works and this trip didn’t disappoint. Burgers are all made fresh and the toppings are amazing.
