It was my first time at this fine establishment. The place was packed, and yet the service was still amazing. Seems like a well oiled machine running here. The calamari, chicken wings and fries were top notch. Best pub I’ve been to in Durham region.

We went on July 31st late afternoon to hear the Sunday band play. Not sure of their name but the music was fantastic! Serving staff were friendly and did their best serving us but seemed a little overwhelmed by the place being full on a Sunday. Food was good, nothing special, no real wow factor, but enjoyable with good sized portions. We had Blackened Chicken Salad ($18) and a small Poutine ($7). Pints ranged from $7.08 to $8.19 depending on what you ordered with a 9oz Pinot Grigio at $13. Overall a decent visit with friends, but again, no real wow factor for the prices charged.

Great pub ambiance. Super friendly staff. Food was top notch for pub fare. Loved that they were using what local ingredients and beers they could find. Would go back for sure if I was passing through again.
Friendly staff accommodated a large retirement party for us. First time there, but will definitely be back for a meal with a smaller group of people.

Had dinner with a friend of mine on Friday March 11, 2022 and loved my experience. Have lived in Pickering for a thousand years and it was only my second time dining at this Pub. I was so impressed! Wine list was fabulous and very reasonably priced. Food was terrific, I had the mussels and they were out of this world. Our server, Allison was outstanding. Place was busy, very welcoming. My weekly default is Jack Astor's; however, no longer. I was dubious about ordering mussels in a pub but Allison told me they were purchased fresh daily and even told me where. Give The Fox Goes Free a visit, they will not disappoint.
