I stopped here yesterday and looked around if you want real Authentic English baked goods these pasties will make your toes curl they are light flakey with just the perfect sweetness I highly recommend stopping here they only serve tea no coffee I tasted a chocolate eclair and a Raspberry tart it was phenomenal if your out in the Pickering area near Brock road stop in and taste for yourself .
Very disappointing. Watch out for expiry dates!! A good amount of goods (that are expensive and full price) are expired.
Diverse selection of British goods. Bakery is of particular interest: Pork sausage rolls and pies are exceptional and absolutely worth the cost. Great service.
Was pretty expensive, pasties were flavourful. The lady working there, was really nice to deal with, knowledgeable and helpful.Onky one person working in the store made for a bit of a line-up, could have done with a lil help, makes me wonder how she gets a tea or lunch break.A good experience though, but a lot more expensive that other import stores.Ann McC
The young gentleman deserves a raise. He has outstanding customer service skills. Very polite. However, the lady was definitely a fan of trudeau. Mask "mandates" are over on Monday. This lady insisted that my kids wear a mask, I said they don't have any. She suggested indirectly that they wait outside while I finish shopping. Love the store. Didn't like how my kids felt. BTW her phone rang and she pulled her mask down while on the phone. #bad taste in my mouth
Took advantage of the sale yesterday and picked up 5 pies. Loved the hot chicken curry and the cheese onion. I'll definitely be back!
Prices were sky high! The Bakewell tarts and steak pies were tasty..but for what I paid.. way over priced. Service was friendly but slow, eventhough I was the only customer in the shop at the time. Also for the amount of money I spent I would have expected to get a decent, more sturdy bakery box for tarts and also something more carry-out friendly and hygienic than a big floppy brown paper bag for just 3 steak and kidney pies (piled on top of each other)!..Presentation packaging was awful, especially since I was taking these to a friend's house as a treat.
The baked goods are ridiculously expensive. The scotch egg was a lunchbag let down. Lack of flavour. The sausage rolls had horrible pastry. The victorian cake was very good but it is easy to actually make at home. The people who work there are friendly. It is the prices that are outrageous. Do not bother to make a visit.
You want British goods, then this is the place to go! Groceries, sweets galore plus baked goods. Don't forget the meat pies!
I was disappointed in the baked goods. I bought three Custard Pies. They didn't compare to the ones l had two years ago in the UK. There was hardly any custard! About 1/4 inch high. The ones in England had one inch of custard. I bought three Eccles Cakes. They were so hard , l couldn't chew them. l threw them out. The only nice things l bought were the Marks and Sparks mince pies, murray mints, and Frys Turkish Delight, from the Uk. My suggestion.is you have fresher baked goods, and more reasonably priced. l think Blightys in Orangeville have a better selection of British Goods. Terry Blundell
