Everything tastes great and I love how fast the food comes out! My most recent visit, there was one waitress that kept getting our order wrong and she didnt stop to answer our questions and completely ignored us. Other than that, good experience!
I thought this place would be a great sushi option since their lunch all you can eat menu price was so reasonable, however, when I saw all their roles I knew why it's so cheap. They wrap an extra layer of rice to fill it and have so little meat and other stuff in there. Essentially they hope you get full off the rice. We opened up quite a few roles to find the same thing. See pictures for proof. Smh, so disappointed.
We have been coming here lately instead of the other options as the quality and speed of service/food is beyond better here. The selection is pretty big and they make very tasty sushi. They have that brown/purple rice here, and it's becoming a favorite of mine to purchase when eating rolls. It's smaller than some of the chain style ones, but it feels comfy and high end.
My wife and I paid our first visit to 1298 Sushi on January 3 (just 2 days before Ontario went back into modified Stage 2) and we are so happy we did! We wanted to dine out one more time before restrictions were reintroduced and we were debating between a few places. Ultimately we chose this place and I must say it was fantastic! The food came to the table fairly quickly after each order was placed and it tasted excellent. You could taste the freshness in each dish they brought out. Even for a lunch buffet they have a multitude of options to choose from. I wish I had 4 stomachs so I could try everything on the menu in one visit. The price was very reasonable at $21.99 per person for lunch. The atmosphere was fine and it looked relatively clean. We will definitely be returning here once restrictions are lifted. Perhaps we will try the dinner buffet to see which additional options they offer. We would highly recommend paying a visit to this sushi restaurant.
Came here for all you can eat. They had a simpler lunch menu for only 20 dollars which was very worth it. They more pricier menu has more options, check with your server. I really enjoyed the seared and torched sushi. We've almost tried everything on their menu. Reasonably priced and really good food.
The staff are so hostile and utterly rude. They literally would slam our dishes on the table when serving us. Zero customer service skills. I came here for dinner (All you can eat), not worth it. Average sushi and way over priced. Never coming back. Get your staff some basic customer service training, and fixed their nasty attitudes.
This is easily one of the best all you can eat sushi spots in Durham, the options are endless, and the food is very high quality. I've never had an issues and I'll continue to go everytime I crave sushi.
This place should change their closing times to an hour earlier than their actual closing time. We got there around 8.15 pm on a weekday and by 9 they were already mopping the floor (entire place smelled like bleach and ruined our appetite). Shortly after 9 they came around and asked if we’re ordering anything else and took our iPad away (we were forced to order dessert before we were done with our meal). Soy sauce was taken and the bill came shortly after. We understand that the kitchen closes early but from what we felt, they wanted us out by 9 when the closing time was 10. We only placed 2 orders and it wasn’t a lot of food.Food was okay but the servers pretty much throw it on the table and walk away before you even get a chance to say thank you. Definitely not the best experience here.
Oh man, what a gem. Having not gone to an all you can eat in many years thanks to the pandemic, this place certainly hit the spot.Their service was impeccable-- friendly without being overbearing, but also very quick to clear the table and refill drinks.Booths are a good sizeAnd mostly importantly the food was great! Everything from rolls to Maki to sashimi: all super fresh & delicious. Will. Absolutely be going again when the opportunity arises.Pricing was very standard for an AYCE place.The Korean beef was by far my favourite, it was so flavorful!Definitely recommend checking them out!
Our favourite local place for AYCE sushi. We dined in recently with our young toddler and had a great experience. Food is hot (when appropriate), service was fast and friendly, menu is large, covid protocols were on point. Couldn't have asked for more and looking forward to coming back again.
