Well it's Swiss Chalet.This was at the Peterborough north location. Wifey ordered ribs with the sauce on the side. The ribs were DRY, bordering on desiccated. The sauces were extremely thick, 80W, and not so hot.Oh well.
Great service, yummy food, big portions. Although in the past when I've asked for extra fries in place of the roll/bun with the quarter chicken meal, they've done it no problem but today they said they couldn't which is kinda lame. It would only be like 10 or 15 extra fries. I was also sad to see how tiny the menu is now and that the 1/3 rack of ribs is gone. That used to be my favourite thing to order as half rack is too big for me and pretty pricey. Food was ready quickly though and it wasn't busy at all at noon on a Saturday. Server was also great about checking ingredients for dietary needs. Definitely prefer this location over the Lansdowne Street location. Quality and taste of food is better, atmosphere is newer and nicer, and the service is prompt, friendly, and helpful.
This was our first visit to this location in town. Our server Cassidy was an absolute rockstar. We watched her juggle several tables at once, handle obstacles of systems going down, while communicating the outages to her patrons with expertise. When more staff arrived, she demonstrated superior leadership skills by outlining priorities during a shift huddle, and rallied the evening team for success. She is a true leader & an absolute asset for both the restaurant & brand. As always, the food was great and we will definitely be back.
Young lady was alone serving in the takeout area she was rushed off her feet but still managed to give excellent service along with a smile. ?
Super friendly staff at the take out and order was just as ordered!! Made for a enjoyable experience
No comparison to the amazing service staff at the Lansdowne location.Waitresses had their own table in the dining room that they all sat around and chatted while they ignored their tables. Drinks were left empty, items were missing when they came, no one came to check on us as they were busy chatting. At the Lansdowne location the waitress will bring a fresh chalet sauce if you have any leftovers - this was not offered and no finger bowls brought. We went at 5 pm as we have kids and for being an empty dining room the service was dismal.
Double legs needed longer time in rotisserie.Ran out of baked potatoes, were nice about it, not my best with Swiss Chalet.Since, 1979 in Canada for me.Peterborough.
Chicken club wrap with fries.. absolutely delicious. Staff were spot on and friendly...great experience tonight
It saddens me to write this poor review...as we are frequent patrons of Swiss Chalet. Attended last night the quarter chicken selection was over cooked and had little meat in fact grisly .The french fries were overcooked..it was actually bearly even eatable.They must have had food prepared and warming as the order was ready in record speed time.I wont be returning unfortunately. ?
As usual, great food, FESTIVE SPECIAL this time of year always hits a home run! Service is always great. Only problem, at this Swiss chalet location, on Chemong St, in plaza, the floors are extremely "oily" feeling, allowing the tables to easily move, opening the door for disaster. When walking to the washroom, you can feel your feet slide. The restaurant is very clean, it's not an issue that way, I'm thinking it's got something to do with the type of tiles used. Other than this, food, service and location are wonderful, lots of parking accessible entry.
