Good food, but not everyone treated the same. Chef not even say hi ,how r u? Give you mean look. Been there a few times ,no ever ask me how are you or talk, just give me rude look.
Doing some business in Peterborough trying to support some small restaurant.The Bibibak is ok and the Tobiko is a little icy. But we've been through the Pandemic so it's understandable. Overall nice and polite. Give it a try?
I would objectively argue that this place sucks. The miso soup is almost cold it has no tofu nor does it have any seaweed in it. Really expensive and far from fresh.
Wish I could leave zero stars, my daughter's dance class shares a parking lot with these people, I was parked in front of the restaurant in a designated parking spot. And this lady ( I use this term loosely) came out and told me to move over ONE spot!! How pathetic, it's not like there was any customers. ?
Great staff, always a pleasure to visit. Always delicious. One of my favorites.
We went for Valentine's day. The server was short with us and impersonal. When we asked for a small portion of noodles for our son, the server said they don't do that. We were also never asked if we wanted more water or anything else during our meal.Some of the Maki sushi was put together haphazardly and nothing was unique in a medium sushi/maki platter. The rice was under seasoned as well. They charged us $10.95 for 6 pieces of imitation crab for our son. I was blown away by the price of such a cheap item that you can easily get at the grocery store.After paying (with no tip - due to the bad service), the server asked if there was a problem with the service when she noticed there was no tip. She asked in a cold manner, rather than a concerned way. The damage had already been done and there was nothing that would have helped the situation as we had already paid. I said "no, it was alright". I then thanked the server and she said absolutely nothing to me, further solidifying her impersonal attitude. Another justification for not giving her a tip.I would suggest people go to the other sushi restaurants in Peterborough, as they are much better in almost all regards.UPDATE: in response to the owner replying to my review. How was the table hard to clean? I am pretty sure we put all the dishes on the sushi boat provided, to help clean up our table. Some gold fish crackers on the floor would take a simple sweep up, so don't try and blow that out of proportion. My children did not eat candy, so I don't even know what you are talking about. Also, it was NOT busy in the restaurant. There was only 3 or 4 tables with people at them.Rather than make excuses, just learn for next time.
Beautiful and cozy place to enjoy authentic sushi. It was an enjoyable experience. I definitely recommend this place and recommending the ginger icecream, a must try. My while family loved it. Thank you Matsu Sushi for a great evening.
Just discovered this tiny gem in south PBO. Had excellent yaki udon last night with tiny perfect shumai to start. The miso soup is one of the best I’ve had. Will definitely visit again.
Not sure what your food is like, but after I heard your staff/owners run out screaming at a parent who was quickly dropping off their child at dance, I won't be finding out. Its a plaza !! you don't own the whole parking lot !!Save that kind of behavior for some vandals !! Good grief get a grip !!
Food is made fresh in front of you, friendly staff willing to explain the dishes before you order. Place is dated a bit the food is excellent
