I haven't had in years, but this Good Friday I felt like indulging. You have to be prepared you wait on this day: it's their busiest! I got there just before 4pm, and was out with my order at 510pm. They are a well oiled machine! A little disappointed we didn't get out extra coleslaw and malt vinegar, but hey we made do! They deserved a big round of applause ??????
I went to the take-out counter for a family special, and ordered fried mushrooms as well, got home, no mushrooms. To make me feel extra special the guy's tone of voice even sounded like I was asking for the moon when I said I'd like some ranch sauce for the mushroom. The only condiments I'd asked for were tartar sauce and malt vinegar... pretty standard for a fish and chip dinner. I even tipped them through the ATM machine...never got a ty for that either. Of course, he thanked the woman for the handful of coins she gave from the previous order. At least the flytrap is gone or has been moved. It had been there with the same flies since Purvey started the Rubidge location.
Fish was mostly batter not very happy with food people were great but have had better fish from them

Too greasy. What fish and chips restaurant doesn't have malt vinegar. Very disappointing.
Was not very good. Batter was over cooked would crumble when you try to cut it. Found bones in the fish.

Friendly, fast attentive service. The fish has always been great. I personally prefer a smaller cut fry, when there I try to remember to ask for my fries well done. I enjoy the gravy they serve.
What a fantastic place. We come from a family of east coasters, and everyone always devours their food.The family meal is so yummy, and the best price too! The owner and workers really show their customers hospitality. Couldn't recommend this place more! Great work bys.
