I went there with my younger cousin in the early evening about a week ago, maybe around 5 o clock. I couldn't decide between steak and lobster or French onion soup. I went with the steak. I'm not sure which was better, the food, or the sweetheart waitress we had. Beautiful blonde girl. I wish I got her name! Anyway. I'm from BC, I came here 3 months ago, and castle John's is my favorite restaurant so far.
We eat out a lot so it's surprising we had never been here before. This was a terrible experience for.my daughter and I. I ordered a burger and a side soup. They charged 15.00 for a burger and 3.00 extra because I wanted soup. On top of this .75 cents because I asked for Frank's red hot. The burger had no sauce and so I had to pay for condiments. My daughter ordered spaghetti off the kids menu and the meatballs were from frozen. She asked for a dessert menu and was charged full board for the dessert. I was informed of this charge and didn't mind but the rest never even told about. At the end I did ask about the charges and the waitress said it's just what they do. I was so tired from work I couldn't be bothered but I really wanted to just say then we will take fries and the ice cream to go. I don't think I will ever get over being charged for condiments. Too bad we will never be back.
I was pretty impressed by Castle John’s. They had plenty of vegetarian appetizers to choose from, as well as mains! I ordered the Deep Fried Pickles which were nice and crispy and the Grilled Vegetable Wrap, soooo good! The service was great, it wasn’t too busy that day.
Food tastes fine I had sweet chili chicken stir fry but what a RIP off.small take out tray we picked up the order3 tiny pieces of chicken and maybe. 1/4 cup of rice, veggies mostly but what was a piece of beef doing on my broccoli, the other meals were fine and I know with covid and short staff is not a reason to be sloppy and cheap out on a meal.
Fantastic food, staff and value. I highly recommend visiting with family, friends or coworkers. Castle John's has a menu that has something for everyone (they even have a great kids menu!).
Pleasantly surprised by this place! Stopped in for a quick lunch with our 2.5 year old toddler. Staff were very accommodating. There is a kids menu and crayons. TV in the booth was also a big hit! For $7.50 your kid can get a generous meal, drink and ice cream! Menu is huge, inexpensive, and really large portions. Everything we ordered was as expected for "pub food"... yummy! They had a new brunch menu. Dining area is large and updated. Waitress told us about lots of chicken wing specials throughout the week. We will be back!
I've had better butter chicken out of the frozen food section at walmart, and for a fraction of the price. Very disappointing.
I've gotten take out & had dine in at this restaurant & never had a single complaint. Food was great. Service was good. Online ordering was quick & easy!
Recently ordered take out and had one of the best meals I have had in years. I would highly recommend it. Can't wait to do it again.
We love going to this restaurant. They have amazing food and we have a few favourites. The wings are the best we have ever had in a restaurant, and the Cobb Salad, Chicken Curry, Ribs, Onion Rings, and Fries are all very good!
