I wish I had known that they had only five things in the menu for weekend brunch. However, everything tasted good. I guess I would have to make a second visit on Lunch/dinner to improve my rating on the place. For someone like me who was visiting Ottawa as a tourist, It felt like any other premium patio and I think I have been to better ones for the bill I paid that day!
Very nice food and atmosphere. However, at brunch today, ordered the Benedict which, according to the menu, includes mixed greens. It arrived without the greens. I pointed that out and the server agreed, apologized and left to rectify the omission. A different server returned and said that the dish no longer included greens as of a recent change. But the menu explicitly states mixed greens. Also, red potatoes that came with the Benedict were undercooked. I was given a small bowl with extra potatoes very quickly. Those were better. Service is very prompt and efficient but I don’t get this business with the greens…
Edit: someone from working title responded to this review asking me to contact them by email. I did so, but never heard back.I usually come to Working Title for pastries and coffee, but some friends and I decided to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner date! Unfortunately, we were really disappointed! The dinner here is really expensive (we each paid $50.00 for our meal) and the service staff are really disorganized, and don't seem to know the menu items. Not to mention, my meal was really awful! I ordered a chicken dish, but on the menu there was no description of what type of chicken it was, so I was very surprised when it showed up to my table as a pile of chicken wings. Then, when I tried to eat the chicken wings, they were this really chewy tough texture that didn't really even feel like chicken meat... maybe they were overcooked? I don't eat chicken wings very often, but each of my friends tried one, and they all thought they were very odd as well.Anyways, with prices like these, you expect to get a really nice meal and great service, but we didn't have either of those for our visit. The patio is gorgeous, but I won't be coming back for dinner again.
Absolutely gorgeous place, inside and out. Repurposed church with amazing cocktails and some amazing service. Had the oysters, fresh in the day off and made a mignonette for us from scratch since they didn't have any which was amazing even if it had not properly sat. Amazing to know a place like this is in the heart of Sandy Hill but you need to try this place. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Definitely going back for the brunch and DEFINITELY going back for a proper dinner!
Three stars for the food but two only for the service. And I'm being generous. Everything took forever. Thirty minutes after we arrived no one had even approached our table and taken our drinks order. Our food took sooo long as well. My friend was on her second coffee by the time it arrived. And I won't mention that it took 10 minutes to bring me salt and pepper! The table of four beside us had time to order, eat, pay, and leave before us. The staff was very polite but gave me the impression they lacked experience. Lovely setting and all but I'm not sure what happened today.
I visit the working title and enjoyed the dish. I wish I had visited when they did not have their fixed menu- there normal menu sounded so good. Anyway, drink were good and the dish was good. I went with a friend who is vegetarian- there only had one option which was actually more tasty than my dish. I would go back- Its an Ottawa gem
We had Saturday morning brunch there yesterday. What a hidden treasure this is. So happy I found this situated in an old church on Laurier and Chapel. It’s a bakery, cafe and restaurant and the food is to die for. Almost everything is made in-house, including their freshly squeezed orange juice. Homemade breads and scones, fennel pork sausage, butternut squash quiche which is what I had……so good.If you haven’t tried it this is a must. In the summertime, they have a beautiful patio that I can’t wait to try.
The food was delicious. We had breakfast there. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce was excellente. Note that I gave 4 stars because there was a bit too much dressing on the salad. Atmosphere is interesting but the accoustic of the room (it was a church) make it hard to hear when people are talking.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio with friends. The food and customer care were well above average, making our evening memorable for us all. Recommend to others without hesitation.
Came in for lunch but they were only serving brunch. No problem, we could enjoy some brunch. We waited about 15 minutes for the server to take our orders. Ordered eggs Benedict, but the server came back and said they were out of eggs Benedict and the avocado toast. That left only a few other options and everything is priced the same so I had a $22 salad. It was literally two eggs, some kale with a small amount of pomegranate and walnuts. Really don’t see how that was worth the money. We had to bug the server to refill our coffees. Overall just not a great experience especially for the price.
