The vibe, service, and setting is great. The food although very filling and the quantity was large, we found the two dishes we ordered lacked flavour. Mostly tasted like butter and oil. Taste is personal thought and not sure if the chef or crew were just having a rough night given the other great reviews.

service was good but meal left us pretty underwhelmedFries appetizer: good price for the quantity, i mean its not hard to make fries and its a cheap ingredient…we ordered it because it didnt look as though mains would come soonScallop main: light on the scallops, too heavy on the potatoes, sauce/flavour barely had any taste . 3/5. For the cost i expected a few more scallops at least or bigger onesShortrib: good portion, not enough sauce though, the meat was dry, flavour overall nothing special 3/5Glad we tried, being new to the area, but disappointed in this “tasty gem”, it was anything but that and at over 130$ it was not worth it at all.

The high quality service was only topped by the food. Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours well being. Each dish was a masterpiece. Our server was very knowledgable on the wine and suggested things to our taste that paired well. Can't recommend this place enough

Awesome experience! The staff was very friendly and the food and drinks were excellent. Can't wait to go back.

The Scallops with Bacon was heavenly, and the Rainbow Trout delicious, with great accompaniments on the "plate" (really in the box). These items traveled well and we will do this again.

Great place! Food is so good I cannot wait to come back. My table ordered 3 different main courses and all of us enjoyed them. The portions are good size and reasonably priced. I’ll be definitely coming back more then once.

Great place! And the food was excellent! Highly recommend

Excellent food and service with a great ambiance. Staff were exceptional. The braised beef and scallops mains were the highlights of our visit, but the menu changes regularly based on what foods are locally available. It gets busy, so make reservations and understand that the noise level will be high in the somewhat confined space. No doubt this only applies to seniors like myself.

I'm a big fan of gastropubs because they always have unique menu items, and Wellington did not disappoint. Starting with duck wings as our appetizer, they were succulent and flavourful, and the handcut frites were delicious- the boys devoured both in seconds! For my main, the scallops were nicely cooked and freshly sourced. Coupled with the sautéed rapini and vegetables, there was a nice balance of bitter and sweet. When you're next in Ottawa I recommend you hit this spot.

The Wellington Gastropub is first rate - it delivers exceptionally solid quality food, a great menu and professional, friendly service. The Gastropub manages to find exactly the balance between a relaxed, warm atmosphere and elevated, quality cuisine. What makes all this even more remarkable is the consistency of the Wellington Gastropub - you can always rely on an exceptional meal and experience. I've had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant many times over the last 15 years and while various friendly faces have come and gone, the level of service and calibre of the food always remain superb. This is a tribute to the highly professional, attentive and talented management of this West Wellington gem.Even COVID doesn't get these people down - if anything, they have redoubled their enthusiasm, distinctive brand of warm hospitality and superb meals - on a recent visit, we enjoyed a truly exceptional tomato, onion and parmesan soup and what are undoubtedly the best scallops in town. Our compliments to the Wellington Gastropub team - take a bow!
