A very pleasant dining experience from an old favourite and a Glebe neighbourhood iconic establishment.
Consistently good food but always let down by poor waiting staff. Our waitress was often loud and brash and not what you would expect at a restaurant like this. She didn't were her mask properly and when we asked for the bill, she sighed and looked visibly annoyed that we wanted to split the bill between the group. We had a similarly underwhelming experience a few weeks before with a male waiter who took 25 mins to produce a bottle wine and didn't bring the starter. He could also be heard arguing with the chef infant of guests. I feel that the poor front of house service is severely overshadowing the good quality food.
Great restaurant. GM was great. I now see why my friends have gone 5 times in 3 months. We'll be back for sure. Don't forget, you can also order from Flippers menu

I would only recommend this place if you want to get screamed at by a waitstaff who doesn't wear masks. We had an issue with the debit machine, so the person I was with accidentally skipped the tip. Instead of helping her reset it, the waitress stared and sighed and stared and sighed and then when the person finally put the transaction through, the waitress started yelling because 'there's no tip on that!'. Well, yes, we knew that, you couldn't have helped? And this whole time, the woman had her mask half off, including when she was bringing out food and refilling our glasses. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was good, which is why I didn't give a one-star rating.
I was quite disappointed with my experience here with my husband. The service was not what I was expecting, it took forever just to get water and our server never checked in afterwards. She also took very long to acknowledge us for our bill which is frustrating. The food was okay, nothing special and the portions are very small. Overall I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Nice atmosphere they do have tho.
Perfect little bistro -- simple and delicious dishes, very good coffee, friendly & efficient service in a quiet, classic setting with a people-watching view of the Glebe.
