We visited the Kent & Slater location on May 9th. 3 out of 10 ratingPositives :Waitress was very nice and attentive.Good LocationGood SeatingNegativesBeer :No British beer on tap. Kind of hard to believe that at an British pub that there was no English, Scottish or Irish beer on tap. It was all the standard stuff you could get at a place like Boston Pizza.Food :We were a party of 6. No one really liked the food and found the meals average or below. My meal the Windsor Sandwich lacked any real taste and was on a crustybun that was so tough I honestly was hurting my teeth on, one of those bite and pull rolls. My wife ordered the fish and chips, greasy fish and limp fries .. says it all.
THE KINDEST, MOST COMPASSIONATE, FUN PEOPLE...Back & Front! An Honour and Utmost Respect For This slice of Canadian Delight!Absolutely ? is a MUST visit, enjoy and live.... THE ROYAL OAK!Kent and Slater ??❤️?
I love the atmosphere, the food, the staff and the pricing. Amid the chaos, there is a place of peace. Harrison is doing a great job to keep it that way!
Came here for dinner with my friend. the food was very good had a chicken sandwich, and a warm apple crisp for dessert. the service was good and the atmosphere was nice.
Service was adequate for a large group, the food came out quite slowly for a lunch period. The food was just alright, after I asked them to surprise me.
Friendly and attentive staff. Good food, cold beer
The service is by far the best thing about the Oak, The food varies between odd and badly microwaved meals with highly processed sugar laden "taste disguising" sauces. We ordered the Pita Platter - which was 2 small congealed pots of Hummus and tzatziki - which almost didn't resemble actual food, - 3 tiny bread triangles and the fresh veg was not the usual cucumber, peppers and celery which might go with dips but instead 3 pieces of raw broccoli and a cut up tomato !!! all of which could not dip as dips were so dense ! The Cheeseburger was our best bet and not bad - but the shepherds pie was a weird tasteless "burning hot via microwave" nuked food. The noodles were in a sauce which we can only imagine what the sugar levels were it was that sweet and highly processed a bit like candy floss!! We like the Royal Oak for its incredibly welcoming staff and atmosphere - just don't eat here on any level !
Love this place, one of our favourites. I hadn't had the Shephard's pie before so tried it tonight and it was really good. Service is always great.
Really good bar fun atmosphere. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS PLACE IS THEY PLAY MUSIC AND ONE OF THE YOUNG WAITERS WHISTLES LOUDER THAN THE MUSIC. I EVEN REQUESTED THAT HE NOT WHISTLE BECAUSE IT BOTHERED ME AND HE STILL FELT THE NEED TO WHISTLE.REALY NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!
Great service Mel is friendly and fast and would definitely return for this location and service again.
