I had a craving for a burger and a few people suggested I try this place. I was so disappointed. After tax I paid over $20 for a very small burger. It was nothing like the photo I saw on the menu/website. For the price I paid I didn't even get very many fries. A side note- I ordered for delivery and didn't think I'd have to ask for condiments like ketchup & mustard. (lesson learned) It was a very plain burger and not at all like I read in the reviews and from people who suggested this place. Waste of my money. I wish I had taken a photo so people could see what I mean. (I just read another review about how this place makes their own ketchup??? I guess I did really miss out.. jeez)
Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Love the atmosphere. I had the bacon and eggs. Came with a side salad, the dressing was lackluster like oil and salt and pepper. Everything was a little overdone. Others had the waffles, they were way overdone but the flavor was there. We joked at one point and started banging their waffle on the plate. A little pricey but its expected for the location. This place has potential, I'd be back for a pint.
We love that we can go there on Thursdays and know that everyone is fully vaxxed. Friendly staff. Good food.
Best burger in Ottawa! Great craft beer selection and incredibly friendly staff!
Amazing food and great service and staff. A great place to go
I went to make a reservation this Thursday and was denied a reservation based on my private medical information. In 2022 this is unacceptable I thought the practice of segregation died in the 1960’s
Friendly service and good atmosphere. Lots of appealing dishes on the menu. I enjoyed the fish and chips and my friend's burger looked great
Pints are quick, and the waiting staff know what's good - and the character of what's on tap.Fries are top notch , well priced, and they're generous with the mayo if you ask.Burgers excellent, but big, yet keep well if you wanna do a doggie. Fish and chips were not an issuez as I devoured then entirely. If it weren't for covid, we'd be there weekly :(
Not sure what the good reviews are talking about food-wise cause the brunch at this place is just straight up not good. Probably the ambience and beer? maybe the cozy decoration? I'm in agreement with the criticisms the other low-rated reviews left: food is overcooked, over-seasoned/salted and at a very expensive price-point given what they serve. Drinks also overpriced. Clearly nothing has been changed since those older reviews.- Smokie was one sausage with 2 eggs poached, potatoes and a salad. Salad was I'm pretty sure...salted??. I thought I was going crazy at first but the salad that came with our other dish ended up also being super salty so it wasn't just isolated to one plate. One of the salads also included pickled onions which were also waaaaay over-salted and it also felt like my mouth was getting bludgeoned with star anise seasoning. smokie/eggs/potatoes weren't bad I'll give them that. However...22$...yeah...no.- frittata - don't know if I'd call it a true frittata or, really rather, a very flattened and sad omelette. As above, someone in the kitchen decided to start salting the salad to a poor result. potatoes decent. 16$ for basically a sad omelette, potato and small salad...- wedge of waffle - oh god, probably one of the worst parts of the meal. small, firm, over-browned, cold that took some jaw muscle to chew. Rest of the wedges probably sitting around in the kitchen right now for who knows how long until the next sucker orders one. Definitely wasn't freshly made. "all dressed" was whipped cream and some blueberry. 3$ for plain...6.5$ for all dressed...fool me once...- drinks - can only comment on the caeser - pretty sure it wasn't mixed/shaken before it got to the table. I thought I was drinking one of the worst caesers I've ever had until I decided to mix it with my straw...better. however, at 12.5$ I thought it was gonna come with some flair on the toothpick or something ya know? nope just rim seasoning, that's it. put a pickle or something on it at least to make me feel like I didn't just fork over a wad of cash for nothingalso ordered the rillette but the server forgot about it. we declined to keep the order once we asked again at the start of the main meal and honestly, probably glad we didn't pay for it considering the other food.Anyway, can't comment on dinner but I'd never go back for brunch again. It honestly felt like I was getting gas-lighted eating the meal cause the price-point made me think it was going to be much better done but really it was poorly executed and expensive.Especially with the pandemic, I would have really hoped more attention and effort went into the dishes to justify the prices they charge or else I can't see how there could be repeat customers any longer.
Fabulous place. Food is amazing. The marinated cheese curds are to die for. Tomato cumin soup is delicious. Fabulous homemade ketchup. Waiter was a great guy who was real friendly
