Went to Petit Bill's Bistro for a date night. It was a cozy spot. The service was very friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and there were several items that caught my eye. Ordered some basic cocktails which were well-presented.The soup of the day was fantastic. The Chorizo appetizer was half a sausage with a few trace side elements. It was okay but too little food for the cost.Mains selected were the Prime Rib and Tuna. The prime rib was excellent. a 10/10. The tuna was tasty itself but accompanying udon noodle lacked vegetables, flavor and crunch.The mains lacked vegetables overall. I would have been happy with a smaller portion of prime rib and more veggies.dessert was a lemon curd cheesecake which was good but not spectacular. I would try Petit Bill's again . My date not so much.
The service was great. All three of us started with a seafood chowder, which was excellent. Then we ordered Beef Short Ribs and Arctic Char. The beef was a little chewy. The Arctic Char was good, however the risotto under the fish tasted very bland.The lunch for the three of us cost $177 plus 20% gratuity. I thought it was on the expensive side considering the quality of food and we didn’t order any alcoholic beverages.
Great meal and service in a beautiful location. I especially enjoyed:+ Lobster poutine: They used an amazing savoury white sauce and perfectly cooked shoe-string fries.+ Arctic char on a bed of risotto, balanced flavours well executed fish and risotto. It also presented really nicely.Favorite dessert was bread-pudding paired with a creme anglaise. It had nice balance of sweetness and great texture contrasts: crispy edges with creamy/soft center. Delicious.Since it was easy to talk over dinner it would make a great place to celebrate a birthday or team milestone with a special meal. Highly recommend.
Absolutely wonderful & friendly service:) loved our food, drinks and apps. I really enjoyed the lobster poutine!
Why we don’t talk about this place with the city’s best is beyond me. Service is impeccable, the owners check every meal x the culinary team is putting out high end food and the cocktails and wine list compete with anybody (even a mocktail list) it’s a never miss experience
It was my first time at Perit Bill's. I had read many raving reviews about the quality of the food and the service, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to reserve a table for my sister's birthday.I was not disappointed. Great wine selection, even their House wine was good. We ordered the steak frites. It was not less than delicious. Cooked with perfection (I asked for rare).Service was very professional, we were greeted by the owner who actually took the time to chat with us, which is very rare these days.I'd recommend it and would definitely go again.

Friendly greeting at the door and seated quickly at a comfortable table. Very friendly wait staff and a greeting as well from the manager. Drinks arrived quickly as did our lobster poutine appetizer. Dinner was delicious, sadly no photos, too busy eating a big plate of fish and chips. Dessert was a most enjoyable bread pudding. Recommended!
Great food, great drinks, and great service leads to great times with friends! The beef short rib was super tender and the accompanying Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were cooked perfectly! I highly recommend this place. The owner was very friendly and came by our table to check up on us multiple times. Definitely on my list of go-to restaurants!
In a different city, or perhaps in a different part of Ottawa, this place has the potential to be cute and cozy. Unfortunately, it's located in the heart of Hintonburg and there are several restaurants that it must compete with. This is the main problem in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the food or service here, but the prices are the same as a bunch of places nearby that deliver a far better experience in terms of atmosphere, service and food. I love the east coast and have been to many fine places in Halifax so I was looking forward to trying this place and as much I want to show the east coast some love here, the experience was disappointing and I simply cannot see myself recommending what is otherwise a very generic spot.
