This used to be my go to place for Chinese food before COVID and I was happy to finally order in person and wait the 15 minutes for a fresh dish! . I ordered a meal for one with an egg roll and a dish with chicken in black bean sauce and chicken wings with chicken fried rice. Almost 19$ with tax. But:The rice was really dry and tasted only of soy sauce with a few bits of chopped green onions. No chicken bits . I steamed it at home with a little water and that improved it a bit. The chicken wings were awful!! they were not only dry but they included mainly the nearly inedible wing tips instead of the meatier lower and middle parts of the wing.I threw out the tips and I had 6 tiny pieces of wings the chicken in the black bean sauce was perhaps 2 ounces and rest was some un- recognizable vegetable. The sauce was ok. But what happened to the always freshly made yummy dishes??!Never will I order again form New Town.
I wish I took pictures. Everything was amazing. I’ve ordered from here a few times and every time it gets better and better. Always fresh, good and filling but not gross over filling. Definitely recommend!
Ordered a dinner for one and the beef with bean sauce on flat rice noodles! Absolutely fabulous and deliver was so fast! I highly recommend this restaurant for takeout!
Read one of the reviews that says the uncooked rice is held in a garbage container. I do believe I ate hot garbage now. Also the General Tao's Chicken sauce was slimey. Truly awful.
I ordered delivery from Newtown Chinese food tonight and the food was excellent. The only issue was the wonton soup container was leaking from the top. Don't put the soup on the bottom?.The one thing that surprised me the most was they said it would be 1 hour delivery time and it only took about 20-25 minutes for the food to get here nice and hot. The whole order was processed online. Overall very impressive.
I ordered fried noodles with bean sprouts I usually order from this place a lot but today was the time where the noodles tasted very odd and I’m pregnant so 20 minutes after eating a few bits I threw up it’s very disappointing as I use to order from this place a lot and never had a problem until now -.-Mandarins is way better Chinese food and I think I’ll just stick with mandarins for now one rather then this place
Good food, big portions, fast and piping hot. This is my go to for my cantonese chow mein fix.
"Crispy Beef" was served literally so crispy you could break it in half with your fingers. I believe it was overcooked, but it may have been intentional considering the portion size. If it was intentional I can't fathom why it'd be marketed as "Crispy Beef" which is traditionally just crispy on the outside and tender or chewy on the inside. These are veritable chips, more akin to Lechon than Crispy Beef.I am aware of course that the sauce was on the side, which I found odd because I'm pretty sure crispy beef has to be actually cooked in the sauce.
It is what it is. And that is good. They are well priced Chinese food restaurant with good food. Surprisingly fast delivery, always shocked by that. Absolutely a five-star!
Best food in town. Fresh, hot, good portions. Delivery was fast. The order was correct. I’ll always order from here.
