Wow, what an amazing experience. Both the food and service were top notch. Almost as soon as we sat down the chef approached us with a complementary drink which he wanted us to try. The drink was a creation of his own and he was excited to share. It was absolutely delicious and and completely unique. The food was also some of the best I've had in Ottawa and reasonably priced. Strongly recommend!!!!!
A delicious surprise ! Very welcoming and attentive staff, head chef is very talented and passionate. 100% recommend- we will be back ! Atmosphere and location is also perfect !
La Taverna came recommended to me by 2 friends within a week or two so a friend and I decided to give it a try after checking out the menu. It was one of the best experiences I've had in so long. The delicious food and attractive prices are rivaled only by the lovely service front and back of house alike. Can't wait to go back. Thanks guys!

great service, I had the meatballs and omg they are out of this world melt in your mouth and the flavors makes you want more 2 hours after absolutely recommend I give them 5 stars plus thank you stephanie for the awsome service and for the chef to come at the table explaining our food
We were a table of six looking for some beverages and snacks. We ordered a Chef Aneesh Platter and to our surprise, he came out to see what drinks we were having to design a platter to match!! And when the platter came out, he came back out to explain how each item paired with our food and included a special palette cleanser shot. He was very kind to take the time to explain everything and his approach for the restaurant. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back.
Your new favourite place ALERT!! It is not often you find a chef who is so excited to share his vision, that he personally table surfs describing his creations to each and everyone that has ordered food . I will predict he will one day receive a Michelin star. Focused on food, pairing and science! What an amazing spot! We had the sundried tomato pesto and ciabatta sandwiches. The food was excellent quality, unique flavours, and very reasonably priced considering serving size. The chef comes out to describe each dish when you are served. I wish I had photos but we ate the food too fast. The place clearly cares about the little touches in their meals. Our waitress was such a ray of sunshine and so warm and outgoing as well. Cant wait to come back!

La taverna is my fav spot in little Italy on Preston. The service is always surpassing any other place in Ottawa - the chef Aneesh is a master of taste and experience. Their bartender Alexandra is an absolute joy to speak with and makes the most wonderful drinks!Coming back this month for the tartar!!
