Came to this restaurant with my family and girlfriend for the gluten free options as she is Celiac. Took 45 minutes to get waters sitting on the patio in 35 degree weather. Servers didn’t care about doing their job, just crowded around the bar to the point where we had to get up and ask them 4 times for drinks. My girlfriend ordered the gluten free cannelloni, terrible meal, garlic bread was still cold from the freezer and they forgot the garden salad until she asked 2 times. Server was unapologetic and didn’t even offer an apology after our food took almost an 1 hour 30 minutes to arrive. Understand that restaurants have staffing issues with COVID but they had 5 servers and the place was almost empty. No excuses for the service, will never come back here and will tell all friends and family to avoid this place at all cost.
I have been living in Ottawa for about four years, and I will say that this is my favourite restaurant. What an incredible experience!Our server was so friendly and professional. I didn’t catch his name, but he was a young guy who seemed fairly new but he was very professional and attentive. Throughout the whole night he made sure we were happy and enjoying our experience.Our food was also amazing, from the appetizers to the desert. We were so happy with everything, and then the chef came out to make sure we enjoyed his food. What a nice detail!Thank you to the staff for such a lovely Wednesday night out.
Excellent place!!!!! I am allergic to gluten and dairy and they have a menu only gluten-free. It taste incredible. I never had a good experience in a restaurant that understands my condition. The staff was mega friendly and polite. Also, my family and I usually eat big big portions, they exceed my expectations, the chicken parmesan was perfect for my hungry celiac stomach, it comes with salad and gluten-free garlic bread. The desserts are gluten-free. I really recommend the restaurant, every one should try it. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!!???
Gorgeous patio and a very intimate and cozy indoor dining setting. The dishes are all incredible, and for the quality of food you're getting it's a very fair price! I didn't picture it here but for 25$ I got one of the most amazing lasagnas I ever eaten, along with a ceaser salad and garlic bread. The crême brûlée is also literally to die for. Highly recommend!
What an incredible experience. The food is unbelievably delicious and they accommodated my need for dairy-free in addition to gluten-free. The staff is incredibly kind, and helpful. The ambiance is very cute- basement, cozy, candle-lit type of place. The prices are more than reasonable. I would recommend is any day. (I also ordered take out a week prior to and that was equally delicious)
Had to wait for an unusually long time for the food but it was worth the wait. Food was delicious and we also got to hear the chef/owner serenade "Happy Birthday" to the man at the table next to us.
Thank you for a delicious safe GF Italian dinner I could enjoy with my family. First time in years I have eaten Italian food that tasted like I remembered in my pre-GF years. I thought I would never ever taste that again! My non GF family loved their food as well. Chloe was our server and she was lovely. I do have to say that I am sad you are a 6 hour drive away but if we are ever back in Ottawa you will be the first call to book a table. Thank you again for a great dinner. Keep up the fabulous work!
Dolce Vita is a must try in the heart of Little Italy! My husband and I were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our intimate wedding after our ceremony. Given that my mother has celiac disease (cannot eat any gluten) we knew we wanted a restaurant that was delicious, classy yet cozy and could also accommodate dietary restrictions. Having been to La Dolce Vita several times previously we felt it would be a great choice to help us celebrate our special day. I contacted the owner Paula and she kindly agreed to open the restaurant early for us on a Saturday (3-5 pm) so we could have the space to ourselves before the busy evening rush. Paula provided prompt communication and we cannot thank her and her staff enough for opening up early for us. The food was amazing as always and our server was very kind and warm. Thank you Dolce Vita for helping us celebrate our special day!
Best restaurant ever where I fully trusted the glutenfree food and admired the setting, the serving and the food. Everything was to my expectations and needs except for one detail which I regret not having mentioned when I was there. Things were so pleasant that I just did not want to state a complaint yet I will mention it here. We were a group of four and as we came out, we all had the idea that the meal and pizzas (except for the glutenfree pizzas) we are too salty. I hope that will be taken into consideration, as everything was so perfect that none of us felt the need to mention it as we were leaving. Thank you for such a beautiful place and wonderful people
Not the most artistic photo, but I definitely recommend the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer to share! Overall, a really great experience, the customer service was great and the chef personally came out to check on each table at the end of the night. I got the regular pizza and it was amazing, the crust was fluffy and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. I can't wait to bring my partner because it had such a cozy and romantic atmosphere (and of course great food). Highly recommend!
