Stopped in for lunch, best pork bone soup we’ve had in Ottawa. or anywhere else we can remember. The beef Bibimbap was also excellent. The portion sizes, including the side dishes were great. The restaurant is small so a reservation is recommended.
Yum! Ordered for takeout and wasn't expecting to get kimchi, rice and sauce with it. They even threw in a couple mandu that I did not order! The food was so delicious! I loved all of the seafood in the Haemool-pajeon (seafood pancake) and the portions were huge! It was my first time trying Kimchi Ji-Gae and I also found it delicious. There were just some pretty large pork chunks so maybe breaking it up would make it easier to eat. The order came well packaged and I was very satisfied with my meal! Leftovers will definitely last me a few days :)
just wanted to leave a rating but see the earlier review from another customer and I was there when he started to talk loudly. The employees did a good job considering how busy they were. It is sad that local restaurants get this kind of treatment sometimes as I also own a restaurant. Please be reasonable and sympathetic to the people who serve you
Honestly one of the best Korean restaurants in Ottawa. Having come from Korea myself, I enjoyed all the food, and I enjoyed the way Canada has the ability to express so many cultures in a way that feels like home when one enters the country. Staff and employees were terrific and extremely kind! Keep up the amazing work!
Great value Korean BBQ. Lots of tasty marinated meats but wish they would carry options that were not marinated like samgyupsal. Have tried a few mains on the regular menu and the portion sizes were pretty big! Overall, the AYCE is great and I think this is where they shine the best.
Found a hair in gamjatang hot pot soup. Since it's a takeout, I called back the restaurant but the phone doesn't work. Didn't expect this at all... Very disappointed ??
*** I've lived in and out of South Korea since 2003. I make Korean food at home 2-3 times a week, including 3-4 hr dishes. ***Service: 10/10 - Excellent. Everyone was quick to greet us and were kind and polite.Speed: 8/10 - 2 x Soft Tofu soups. Seafood and Pork. Food was ready for pickup in 20 minutes, although they got my order wrong. I ordered pork and got beef instead.Food: 1/10 - Their recipe for soft tofu soup is completely wrong (e.g. chili oil on everything, white pepper, etc). For our soup, they used the wrong tofu (medium, not soft), used chili oil instead of sesame oil, used the wrong chilis (jalapeno is not the same as bird's eye chili), used WHITE PEPPERED BEEF instead of unseasoned fresh beef, sweetened the soup with syrup instead of stewing shrimp shells... Overall, very low-effort.Authenticity: 2/10 - This is not Korean food. If you really like Northern Chinese-style Korean food, this might be for you. However, if you want authentic Korean food, absolutely stay away. There are better options in Ottawa.Value $$$: 5/10: - We paid $18.00 for each soup, before tax and delivery. Other Korean restaurants are charging around $1-2 less per plate. Slightly expensive pricing. This was our first time ordering from KHR and we probably won't order there again. It's just not Korean food.
Favourite place for Korean food! I’ve been coming here for a few years now and whether it’s takeout or dining in, the quality of food is the same and it’s delicious. Their seafood pancakes are massive and worth the price you pay (it’s more expensive than places like Alirang but trust me when I say they are loaded with seafood and there’s enough to feed 3-4 ppl as an appetizer). Bibimbap, bulgogi and the kimchi gamjatang are our usual dishes. Highly recommend!
I was very impressed with this restaurant. From main dish to side dishes, they were all delicious with right taste and quality. I throughly enjoyed my meal. The staffs were also very friendly.Korean-approved!
First visit here was as expected...food was fresh, hot and delicious. Staff was attentive and very polite. Ordered from lunch specials, portion sizes were great. Excellent value for tasty dishes.
