Really tasty food. Kotanadu Chicken is a star.A little small portions for my liking but taste is phenomenal.Indian tea is also authentic.
Kochin kitchen was really good! We were traveling from Virginia to Ottawa and wanted to find a spot for some kerala food and Kochin Kitchen didn't disappoint.Tried the Parotta, Lamb Kuruma and the Beef Fry and all of them were good. The parotta was pretty big so choose the number of parottas wisely.The beef fry was really tasty, fried to perfection with copious amount of dry coconut flakes! Lamb kuruma was also on spot.They offered kingfisher for beer which I tried as well.Parking is on the street so depending on how crowded the area is, it maybe a struggle. We were lucky enough to get a spot right outside.Saw some reviews where they were complaining about how this doesn't cater for all south indian food, which doesn't make any sense granted the name is Kochin Kitchen and not another-Generic-dosa restaurant.
Excellent hosts for our large lunch party. Waiters could have been a bit more knowledgeable about the dishes they were serving us, but were very helpful with adapting to some changes on the fly. The food here was very tasty, but I wouldn’t really claim it to be truly south-Indian cuisine as much of it tasted like standard Indian subcontinent food
Great south Indian food served here. Very courteous service. Staff is amazing. Food tastes great. Dum biryani was one of the item ordered, we found that it didn't taste like authentic biryani at all. We loved the mango lassi. Food quantity is bit less for the price you pay when compared to other south Indian food restaurants.
Visited the place yesterday. First of all I wanna announce it as the best south Indian restaurant in Ottawa. A must Try. The sambhar was awesome. We ordered Masala Dosa, Vada and Sevaiya. All the items were exceptional. And what makes it a Five star is the vibe of the place and great customer service.
average food, worst service!!The food here is average. Even though I enjoyed the chicken curry(with coconut milk) and porotta. The other curries which we ordered tasted almost similar which was a big disappointment.But the one star is for the service. we booked beforehand and came here from Montreal, and the except for the first order of main course we ordered, we couldn't get any other food from the menu including coffee, deserts or extra curries. The excuse was that it would take a lot of time because they had to serve other people at the restaurant. One of the waiter said, they had other parties waiting so they couldn't serve us. I was surprised that they couldn't serve us ice cream.
We had both Veg/Non-Veg, the taste is really good and we didn’t have any complaints. Taste of mango lassi and lime juice are of different taste, but its good and both the chicken and sea food are fresh, we didn’t feel like its kind of old/frozen ones. would highly recommend this place. The place is clean, staffs are very nice and they explained the dishes to patiently which helps us to decide. Seems like we need to have reservation but we got the table for our lunch.

Ordered the recommended kodanadu chicken for lunch. Chicken was definitely overcooked. Hard and rubbery. The spices were too powerful. Got parrotas. The parotta was soft and delicious.Update:I decided to give this place a second chance. I thought this place has good reviews maybe i ordered the unpopular dish or not the best dish served at this place the first time around. I ordered king fish curry today for lunch. It is recommended by both reviewers on google and on ubereats. I opened the container and it smelled good so i got excited. Took the first bite of the fish. ROCK. SOLID. I was shocked.Fish is supposed to be soft and tender. I thought i made a mistake. I must have ordered chicken. I double checked my order and it was king fish curry. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant before. Gave them two chances, wont be another one. I don’t understand how this place has these reviews. I wouldn’t give a 0 if i could.PS- see the color of the curry? Thats not the curry its the oil floating on top of the light orange curry.
