Très décevant comme restaurant. Personnel ne comprends pas le Français. Le plus déplorable facture plus de 200$ et on ne nous laisse pas terminer l’entrée avant d’apporter plats principaux.
Friendly staff & food was FANTASTIC!!!
It's been a few years since our last visit. I went with my spouse and another couple. Service was excellent. The food was delicious all around including the appetizers and entrées. It was a Sunday and with our table near the sidewalk patio on a warm evening we could also watch the procession of high end vehicles cruising back and forth flashing their income, fake or otherwise. It was an excellent evening out and we'd return for sure.
I haven't eaten at Johnny Farinas (the sit down restaurant) before but I have gotten drinks! Awesome attentive service and they even offered us fresh bread to munch on. I frequently stop by Johnny's To Go (located to the right of the entrance) for lunch! Joe is awesome and makes a killer salad and panini!
There on Canada Day and had a wonderful time! Not sure the waitresses name but was very friendly and not too intrusive during the meal. The hostess was there for help when required. Food was fantastic! Our new go to for Italian food for sure.
This review is to show appreciation to server Colin who served us dessert on my birthday. The tiramisu and sticky coffee cake were very good. The restaurant has a good patio on Elgin Street
The food is delicious, the service is top drawer, and the atmosphere is the warm, Italian dining experience we all hope for but seldom find
While the food was generally good, the dining environment was a disaster. The booth next to us was allowed to have nine people sitting in their booth, with sometimes a couple of others standing in the walkway at the end of the end of the table . Their evening was clearly focused on drinking and socializing, and perhaps appetizers , although we did not see one single food dish served. They were talking so loudly that our party of four could barely hear one another over our two hour dinner. We complained to the waiter on at least two occasions but to no avail. When the manager finally came to speak to us as we we were ready to leave (at our request) the best he could is simply apologize for the noise... big help that is. We strongly suspect that this group were friends with some of the waiters and potentially the manager, who seemed quite content with running the place like it was a bar as opposed to a restaurant. His choice, but I would never set foot there again, and the restaurant owner would be well-advised to make some changes if she/he/they want to stay in business. What a horrible evening all in all.
Had the Johnny Farina chicken penne. Oh, what a glorious salty creamy garlicky flavour fest that was! Comfort food for grown-ups. Unmarred by veggies of any type; you'll want a salad to go with it. :-)
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Last Sunday, I ordered take out for 5 people. There was one meal missed in my order to cause one person in our group without dinner at that night. I called back, and the reception girl pretended to give me refund by phone. After couple days, I had not received the refund at all. I called back again, and the reception apologized and redid it again. During the process of refund, the phone had been cut off. $21 for this meal is not a big deal, but their service can not be accepted. Through my experience, just let other people to be careful in next time. When you order at this restaurant, please ensure if you get anything you have ordered. Otherwise, it is really frustrating to get refund.
