Delicious variety and good value, the BBQ duck with rice was yummy! Everything we have tried so far was excellent.
Ordered the Szechuan crisp beef with sauce. The beef was extremely dry and literally tough as leather. Likely old overcooked beef that they re-fried and tossed in some sauce. The Hot and Sour soup with chicken, although good going in, had me sitting on the toilet all night. If you are the type of person that loves their body and cares what goes into it, this isn't the place for you. Don't let my gastrointestinal pains go in vain. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
Finally visited for the first time with the recommendation from my colleague!First impression was a little “eh…” because the building is quite old. As you get seated, you’ll feel a sense of authenticity and at-home kind of atmosphere.Service is excellent, staff are very friendly.I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered tonight (see photos). Portions are great and was cooked authentically well! I’m from Toronto so I’m picky when it comes to Chinese food, but I really liked this place!Highly recommend to anyone looking for an AUTHENTIC chinese food spot!
For having just found it, Jadeland was quite good. Service was great and they were very polite. Excellent choices and the food was delectable. An easy recommendation for anyone in, or coming to Ottawa.Don't be fooled by the outside of the building. It was quite nice inside. Outside could use some TLC but it was not a factor in my decision to eat there.
Not cost-effective for delivery. I live in Centertown and they charge $4 for delivery plus tip to the driver - the same person doing the delivery so say, $6 total just for delivery?? Not even the food delivery apps charge this much for delivery to my place from anywhere in Chinatown. This is gouging.
I had not eaten here in years but, we ordered from here on Christmas Eve. After waiting well over a hour, our food was finally ready. I was frustrated, but these folks were busting their butts to get the orders out as quickly as possible. It was just a busy time everywhere. The food was so delicious that my husband said it was the best he has had and I said that I would do it all over again and wait for the food. That is how good their food is. Cannot wait to order from the again.
When you enter, don't be deterred by the plastic draping. Esthetically, it's a highly unusual and unwelcoming pickup experience (hopefully temporary, due to COVID), but the food is very good and the service, friendly. Just be sure to order ahead of time, especially on a weekend. Skeleton staff works very hard and the results are tasty.
Amazing and authentic! Great service. This is the only place my Chinese family will eat when we go out in Ottawa.
My family and I have been coming to this place for over 20 years and it is by far still my favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Their #224 (beef fried noodles) is always on our order.
Amazing Food. This is one of those special places. I was first brought here many years ago and I try to go whenever I'm in the area. When family comes from out of town everyone is eager to go eat here. Highly recommend.
